There are always underperforming films every year...Overperformers are a bit harder to come by.

lol. We'll now see JC crawl to $100m. Mysteriously it will keep getting 1000% increases as Disney tries to save face by shaving away bits and pieces of TA gross. Okay, I hope that doesn't happen, but I can see Disney doing something like that, but they already fired someone, so they really shouldn't give a care about JC's gross at this point. No one else does.

Heck, I would be happy if this just stayed at $200m, anything beyond that is like well, I have no idea.

That would be insane. That would be a $41M increase over DH2. We've never in BO history had a film increase its OW by that much money. It's unfathomable.

Most likely. Disney will have no choice but to cave-in. TA2 will likely have a budget of $300m to $350M, and I'm not kidding.

You know with this being so huge, I now realize that RDJ can ask for a crap-load to come back as Iron Man. I think his contract ends with Iron Man 3.

What I want to know is what kind of boost the Thor and Cap sequels will get. I also think Disney should give Hulk one more go as a solo movie.

What's really funny is that its OW is bigger than Cap's, Thor's, and Hulk's total grosses. lol

Yah, and an independent studio has had several $100M openers--Lionsgate/Summit.

God, I still can't wrap my head around this number. $200M. It's mind-boggling.

At this point, $500M is close to locked and a $85M second weekend is very likely. That isn't even fanboy dreaming, but just being realistic.

I agree. For years, we've wanted superhero films like we're getting and finally Hollywood is delivering. It took them many, many, many years, but at last, real superhero films exist.

Today is the most epic day ever. If the world ends on December 21st, at least we lived to see the day of a $200M OW.

If TA can manage a $100M 2nd weekend then Avatar's gross would be in play.
