That is great but I am not sure anecdotal evidence is sufficient to extrapolate. But good legs in japan is given. That market is fundamentally leggy with 2 day weekends. Plus being summer weekdays are bigger than weekends. Key thing is OW.If you trust the web reviews/comments, apparently people clapped/standing ovation for TDKR in Japan premiere screening. This is really really rare in Japan so hopefully it can surpass the expectation.If this is really true, we might see great summer legs for TDKR in Japan.

I dont believe believe firedeep. Variety/HR reported its ready for release. Only dates need to be finalized. Until I read other I will believe its releasing. Xiayun also stated nothing has changed.Well now with the news of China likely not releasing TDKR, the OS total may not be all that incredible anymore. Without China, this can struggle to get much further than 1B.This movie just can't catch a break.
Greece/Portugal etc are dead. I dont see anything doing well in those markets.Why do you think that?

I think outside UK/Australia, it will increase everywhere. TDK was not big anywhere outside those 2 countries. I think USD gross of TDK is possible in Australia. But UK would be tough though the start is solid. I think olympics will hit it.

So outside Spain its doing great. I think few other european markets will also be mediocre for sure.

Variety/HR already confirmed TDKR release just late last week. I am told approval is done. Just finalizing dates. WB wants it moved after 8/30.And you still believe in a China release (at this point, after all these) ?Chinese gov. wont agree and TDKR does not need China either.

I agree it is dead. it will have serious impact on walk ins.Weird that while this will affect its domestic BO negatively, it will actually help its OS BO big time. Awareness will shoot big time in markets where it was low key.Anyway I dont care much at this point. It was a great film and this tragedy ensures there are bigger things in life than BO.I can't believe there's still people who think this will break the OD record after what just happened....it made only 30.6m at midnight and there was a massive shooting where 71 were shot. Anything over 80M would be fantastic!

I agree. Even Bane did not have much screen time in the 2nd half.One scene with talia. Otherwise it was all about Bruce, Blake and Gordon.Batman himself didn't have much, but Bale had easily the most. This was absolutely a Bruce Wayne film, and I'm ok with that. Kind of surprised anyone could think Nolan cares more about the villains having seen the same film.

I absolutely loved this one. To me its all about nolan. What a great journey he took through in the trilogy. I thought this was way more emotional than TDK or BB. Bale was at its best. So many great scenes with Bane, Selina, Ras, Fox, Blake and the last scene with Gordon. Even though there was no performance matching ledger's joker, I thought everyone aced their roles. Anne was fantastic and carried the movie with Bane in the 1st half(Bruce IMO took over the 2nd half).Technically this was great. Regarding action Nolan is getting better with every film.Also this has the greatest climax I have ever seen.I cant wait to see it again. So does my wife.

I think TDKR OW will be much higher than 3M OW finish which TDK had. Fake earlier said despite opening lower it could even beat ASM total bcos of less competition. But we will know after next weekend.How big is that and how does it compare to TDK's opening?

While the Colorado tragedy will negatively impact its domestic prospects, I think it will actually increase awareness internationally. So you lose somewhere and gain elsewhere. We will know especially with next week's openings.

having seen the movie, only thought is the motherfucker nolan did it. I dont even give a shit about the box office. What matters is he made a great movie that makes me want to go back asap to see it.

Disappointing number for sure. No way to spin it. Let us see how rest of friday plays out. Denver thing is totally unfortunate. Leaves a bad taste and takes the interest out of tracking the BO.

I would not go by expectations. Fans always expect too much. They thought reboot factor is irrelevant in OS territories which proved to be incorrect.

what is the maximum.Spiderman will get destroyed this weekend.Fantastic for IA4. I think 45m is the minimum. Could get near $50m.As for TDKR, $25m is the minimum I see it opening to. 2D sellouts have just sky-rocketed, and IMAX has been sold out for weeks now.

More like they dont like lousy animation movies. They make some of the strongest animation movies that covers most types of movies. I guess pixar being inspired from Miyazaki is relatable for the japs. None of the dreamworx venture including KFP did well(though it did much better than IA3).Do the Japenese have lousy voice artists?The main point of IA success in the German speeking world are the voices of Sid ,Diego and Manny.

ConneryCraigBrosnanDaltonLazenbyMooreWhile I liked some of the moore movies when I was young, dont care for his portrayal at all. Lazenby had potential but got the wrong advice from his agent. Dalton acted well in so-so movies. I wish he had better director support. Brosnan had a great start with Goldeneye but his movies got worse(Die Another Day was awful). I wish he was able to play bond 1st time around(during Remington Steele days). He would have beaten Connery as longest playing bond.Craig has brought something unique to bond. CR was simply fantastic while QOS was mediocre. I am having high hopes for Skyfall based on what I have seen so far.Connery is the epitome of bond. Both movies and his portrayal are in the league of themselves. I simply love his 1st 4-5 movies. Especially From Russia/Goldfinger/Thunderball.
