  4. ^ it's Metro Manila Film Festival held every year where only Filipino movies for 2 weeks beginning Dec. 25 are shown [except IMAX screens]. The film fest is not really for art films but commercial movies so slapstick comedies, horrors, fantasy-comedies and melodrama dominate.
  5. Blu-rays are still not popular here in the Philippines. It's still DVD and even VCD dominating the video stores
  6. 5 6 Delivery Man BV $3,742,544 -45.3% 2,905 -131 $1,288 $24,767,326 $26 3 good drop, all things considered. $24M gross to date with just $26M so it won't be a big money loser. 7 7 The Book Thief Fox $2,625,623 -46.0% 1,316 +82 $1,995 $12,000,678 - 5 So I guess Fox was right not to have a wide release from the get-go. 7. Sad the franchise is practically dead now.
  8. Yeah, Captain Phillips did well though and depending on how it will fare on the awards season, it could have a second wind at the box office
  9. Ender's Game also had good visual effects, too bad it didn't make it. Surprised Walter Mitty was snubbed as wlel Anyway, my final 5 Gravity Oblivion Iron Man 3 The Hobbit 2 Pacific Rim
  10. As long as Hanks is nominated I'm happy
  11. What was the last movie from the big 6 to open post-Thanksgiving weekend?
  12. I wish we had a Lincoln this year, the adult-appealing movie that pulls incredible numbers. I was really fascinated with that movie's box office run
  13. If Rise of the Guardians only had better character designs (they really didn't look appealing especially to kids, felt like it was Final Fantasy), I bet it would have earned more, it was the perfect movie for the holidays
  14. Physically speaking, no acting or personality involved, just plainly looking at them JLaw and Liam looked better together. Anyway, here in the Philippines based on online observation, they like the casting of both Josh and Liam and Josh really has admirers. Liam, not much but there's no bashing. But it's nothing like what the girls here had for Robert Pattinson and heck even for Taylor Lautner's abs. Say what you want about Twilight but they really casted the right guy for Edward based on fan reaction. The guy they picked for 50 Shades had better reception here well than Sons of Anarchy dude so 50 Shades could be a big here as well
  15. Josh is fine and he has nice rapport with JLaw in their interviews, Liam is very boring on press junkets and interviews. The main problem with Josh is the height but it's not noticeable in the movie anyway
  16. It's from Universal. Yeah Fox tracks their movie until the last cent so it seems. The Heat, Turbo and Percy 2 are still in theaters! And Runner, Runner & The Counselor could still last until the holidays
  17. No, I like her as well. But she's more an early 2000s artist for me. The artists I mentioned where the stuff I was listening when I became a chart geek in the mid 90s
  18. I'm a 90s music fan as well but I'm a pop guy so it's Backstreet Boys, Boyz II Men, N*Sync, The Corrs it is for me
  19. Kick Ass 2 really had a short run (8/16 to 9/26) other flops which earned below it (The Host, Big Wedding, Beautiful Creatures, Admission, Parker) lasted at least 2 to 3 months.
