  1. I liked the trailer actually since I'm a sucker for family stories so I was disappointed with the reviews but now I want to see this movie again but no release date here so far (originally slated for Sept. 5 but was cancelled)
  2. The Campaign didn't do that well here in the Philippines, The Watch made more money!
  3. Me too, I thought it would pull People Like Us numbers. And the reviews were bad as well but it really showed some good legs in the box office.
  4. The Campaign did pretty well for WB, it made more money than the other higher profile WB projects Dark Shadows and Rock of Ages and is just $2 mil shy from catching up with Wrath of the TitansHope Springs $60 million is good as well, nice legs given the average openingProps again to Odd Life and ParaNorman
  5. We don't have that channel here but good that somehow is still being shown there.
  6. I hope so I want Wreck It Ralph, Rise of the Guardians, Les Miserables to do well
  7. I don't expect 100 million for Trouble with a Curve, but maybe Hope Springs numbers?
  8. True, 3D tickets are expensive especially for a familyAnd like I mentioned earlier, last year TLK was the first major family movie in a long time so that helped but this time Wimpy Kid 3, ParaNorman and Odd Life all did respectable business last August. With the great openings of Lorax and Madagascar 3 this year, seems like when there's a long stretch of time when there are no family movies in theaters, the first one that comes out will perform well out of the gate
  9. I'm curious if Clint Eastwood's "Obama chair" incident will affect the box office performance of Trouble with a Curve
  10. Yeah Alladin is almost forgotten, I haven't seen it in video stores or played in Disney Channel. And it's not like the movie was like Hunchback of Notre Dame in terms of impact, that movie was so popular during its time. A Whole New World is I believe one of the most popular songs from that came from the Disney 90s renaissance
  11. True, Lion King's run was just phenomenal last year and because of that some people have lofty expectations for the other 3D rereleases. Lion King 3D's run last year was the biggest box office shocker for me last year
  12. Rental used to be strong here (during VHS/VCD days) but now it's almost dead although there's still one chain still surviving though. I used to have a card there but I lost it
  13. Good enough Finding Nemo 3D. Like a lot of people already said Nemo is practically available in every US household so don't expect TLK numbers at all. And unlike TLK last year, family audience was not deprived for the past few weeks before Nemo opened because ParaNorman and Odd Life was servicing the family audience. Sure as a fan I wanted more for Nemo 3D but I was realistic enough not to have lofty expectations. I think it will end around 40-50 mil, there's Hotel Transylvania to get family audience
  14. I'm holding out hope for Looper to breakout and Argo as well although it will be tough
  15. Yeah. The fact that a movie like The Watch topped the chart says something about the box office.Next week will be better for sure. Local flick The Mistress will earn big bucks and Resident Evil as well.
  16. Philippines Box Office September 5–9, 2012 courtesy of Box Office Mojo [*]The Watch - $205,746 [*](local) Amorosa - $187,585 [*]Total Recall (2012) - $151,998 [*]The Possession - $148,981 [*]The Expendables 2 - $71,488 [*]The Raid: Redemption - $54,474 [*]ParaNorman - $52,416 [*](local) I Do Bidoo Bidoo - $50,042 [*]The Campaign - $42,568 [*](local) Bwakaw - $37,460 [*]The Bourne Legacy - $36,447 [*](local) Captive - $26,880 [*]Katy Perry: Part of Me - $7,209 [*]Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days - $3,927 [*]The Amazing Spider-Man - $2,754 [*]The Dark Knight Rises - $2,366 ***** Dull week in the box office. TASM is back in SM Moa IMAX so it's on the list again (The Lorax and Journey 2 are back as well but no reports, maybe too low)
  17. WB really had some nasty flops this year with Wrath of the Titans, Dark Shadows and Rock of Ages! The Campaign will soon outgross them all, who would have thought?
  18. Oh wow how long can it keep that rating
  19. I'm looking forward to a lot of movies coming out this month actually :DSept. 12 - The Mistress (yes I like this kind of stuff )Sept. 19 - Dredd / Ruby Sparks / and local horror flick PridyiderSept. 26 - Perks of Being a Wallflower and if it pushes through Ted
  20. I only saw Nemo on home video (VCD! ) so I'll be watching this in the theater when it comes out here on December. I did it for Lion King and Titanic even though I don't like 3D haha
