  1. Oh Universal why couldn’t you make a decent dark universe ? Blumhouse and shitty casting thus far, this has all the potential to be dreadful but at least its budget will be extremely low. As a fan of classic universal monsters this is sad....
  2. I saw it doing much better than IW almost a year ago and it is actually in the first pages of this thread. I expected around 2.5-2.6 billion WW.
  3. Where would it find around 90 million$$ more in June to pass Avatar ?
  4. Nope that’s not it. Can someone honestly tell me that these films don’t have some of the worst acting ever in big blockbusters ? Not many people hate kind of similar stuff like hunger games or even true blood for example. The objective truth is that the twilight films are horrible in every sense, hilarious acting, funny effects, embarrassing moments . At least other horrible films have spectacle to offer , these films don’t. Now one can like these horrible films, I like my fair share of objectively awful films (though most don’t have 1% of twilight’s budget) but don’t present reasons such as “these are chick flicks, fanboys e.t.c” to explain why many people don’t like them.
  5. We can even exchange words, I don’t mind because I know you won’t use personal insults (and I mean true personal insults not what some people here take as personal insults) and it will be a fun time arguing. I used to have some people on ignore, now I have un-ignored everyone (but a racist that I won’t say his name) because I want to read the forum in all of its glory.
  6. No people hate them because they have laughable “acting” (if you can even call it that), present the most sissy version ever of horror icons like vampires and werewolves and have a hilarious love story. It is like taking the absolutely worst elements of soap operas and applying them on fantasy/“horror” films. There’s nothing cool or uncool about hating a franchise that has been dead and buried for many years.
  7. To be honest I don’t even have words that can express my horror about the few twilight films that my, then, girlfriend dragged me to watch at the theater.
  8. Meh your post was quite mild. The fact that someone brought up your age is the despicable thing here but whatever. I was banned because some kid that does tracking did it all wrong about endgame , ignoring a gazillion tickets it had presold before the last week prior to ow and comparing it to other movies just for the last 4 days before ow and telling everybody to be conservative. I posted one line about how this is wrong, he threw a long tantrum (about children’s films and whatever) , I replied with another single line post telling him that if he doesn’t have the time he should stop , he threw another tantrum with a looooong post that ended with a “fuck you” declaring himself a......bad ass while begging the mods to ban me, I replied with 4-5 words saying that i don’t care, the mob chimed in and i was banned. Funny thing I turned out to be right about his mistake on the “tracking” method he used (since endgame did a crazy ow) and it’s not that I care about my ban or anything (not even posting here much if at all) but it was a nice example about how these people that were so offended with baumer’s post operate.
  9. He is actually being quite kind and gentle towards these specific people. If this was a forum with no paying members and without a moderation system that allows the mob to demand bans then you would see how some crybabies whose cinematic knowledge ends at the most recent blockbusters and who think that they know it all, would be dealt with.
  10. Didn’t want to post it on the thread but really taking people like that one guy or some other kids seriously. I get it it is your forum (or I don’t know the status/ownership of the forum, you are a mod) but really most of the people posting are completely ignorant in everything but the most commercial/mainstream movies on the market. I think you can see it, no need to further explain myself and if I sound elitist I am sorry but most people in the forum are completely ignorant.  Peace🤘🏼🤘🏼

You're right. Well said. So many immature individuals here.

  11. 164 million more worldwide seems achievable but who can tell ? Aladdin will be its first serious competition in worldwide markets next weekend. As you wrote actuals don’t matter, 2-3 more million won’t make a big difference.
  12. Haha, the extreme reactions I see are actually very entertaining, so much wasted energy from some folks.
  13. Honestly and I am quoting you because you are one of the very few people here that have actually something to say (unlike the usual mob) believe me (and you know if I am a marvel fan or not since 2001 when we had our first arguments), there is a big part of the MCU fanbase that didn’t enjoy the film. They didn’t hate it, just didn’t enjoy it enough for repeat viewings. Whether it is in forums, social media, anecdotal evidence e.t.c it is simply the truth. Yes the movie did gigantic, many people had to see it being the event that it was but consider this :matrix reloaded did terrific business when it was released , was it really that beloved ? Were the POTC sequels that beloved ? Hell was spider man 3 that beloved or even “return of the Jedi” ? Not everything is black and white. To be honest I don’t even believe that the world went nuts for avatar , it just became the talk of the town and did these amazing numbers, everybody had to see it because of the technology mostly. If EG had managed to capitalize on its monstrous opening it would have done over 3 billion WW and easily beat TFA in the U.S, the competition it is having in the theaters is laughable (a Pokémon semi failure film, an R-rated niche action film and an already scrutinized live action remake from a cartoon).
  14. WOM is mediocre even amongst people invested in the saga. One look at any comic book forum is enough, don’t let the bubble of this forum fool you. Nice point about the giant OW help multiplier too, usually a giant OW (let alone an opening weekend like this, an unprecedented one) can create a snowball effect making the film a must see for almost everyone based on hype alone. Instead this OW seems to be used as an excuse for the legs that we are seeing, something that previous huge OW films like the ones you mention or even TFA avoided with ease, having huge OW AND good to great legs. The only movie that I can think of, that wasn’t a dud like BvS, that faced similar issues is HP:DH2 , all the other huge OW movies had good multipliers.
  15. That question makes zero sense. It is all relevant. Yes had it opened, for example, at 100 million and did 850 million it would be considered a titanic-like box office run. You can even apply that to movies that failed, had BvS opened at 100 million and then did 330 million it would have been considered a success. The thing is that post-ow both infinity saga movies had weak legs in the U.S and these legs costed them some box office milestones that seemed certain after the ow. Nobody is saying that they weren’t gigantic box office successes , some people should stop oversimplifying things so much to win an argument. Both movies had worse legs than expected in the U.S compared to their OW. For me, endgame dropping in dailies behind IW is shocking.
  16. Yep. Just like IW didn’t pass TFA because of domestic, EG might not pass Avatar because of domestic. People can scream and laugh and whatever but for both of these films the legs in the U.S , considering the OW/good reviews/generally favorable audience reception, were average to bad. IW after opening at around 260 million failed to do 700 million and endgame is dropping hard right now in the U.S after a freakin 360 million ow. I love how some people yell “830 million is bad ?”, well after a 360 million opening weekend yes it is. It’s all relevant.
