  1. 90m BARBIE, 50m OP weekend coming. The atomic blonde ain't slowing down.
  2. Actually TENET's overseas tally was sensational given the circumstances. It was just a good action film, wasn't spectacular. With OP, Nolan is back to legendary form.
  3. Everything increased from yesterday. BARBIE is looking at £35m first week if does over £4m today as well. 😍 OP will close the week around £19.5m. MI7 only down 30% from last week, tracking comfortably ahead of FALLOUT. ELEMENTAL 97% up from last week, hit £10m and more to come. Awesome times at the cinemas.
  4. Easily my most anticipated film of the year. The franchise is brilliant. Saw I-VI that is. I don't count the last 3 films. This is going back to what made the franchise great hopefully.
  5. I will. Love me some OZ horror. Speaking on which, the most refreshing follow-up to BARBIE would be a horror-comedy. Give us a BARBIE/M3GAN crossover. Now that WB and Universal best buddies lol Make it happen.
  6. TALK TO ME is out this Friday which looks amazing. Hopefully it will do OK. I'm doing TALKENHEIMER over the weekend
  7. Not really. Nothing big is coming. TMNT will take screens away from ELEMENTAL. MEG will take screens away from INDY. None of them big releases to require tons of screens. BARBIE and OP will have plenty, even MI7 which is holding up pretty good, challenging FALLOUT. HAUNTED MANSION and GRAN TURISMO will be playing in multiplexes, but not out until August 11. Apart from a couple of docs, no big art-house release coming to boutique chains. BARBENHEIMER is going nowherw, will continue to dominate the rest of the summer.
  8. Which it was what it was probably headed, but the double bills and Barbenheimer memes came along.
  9. I have a different view on capacity. It would be chaotic and complete mayhem if theatres can pull screenings at will like they do in China for instance. It's a good thing that distributors can have certain control. Otherwise a small film would never get a chance and other motives could come into play (political). If a distributor didn't book enough screens for a hit, it's on them. I remember when I was working in a 18 screen multiplex in the UK during Bond and despite Bond having 10 screens, they decided to add 3 more and cancelled a tons of other shows. Turned out that 25 people's ticket had to be refunded and they never had a chance to watch that film. I felt so terrible for them. I don't care if the cinema made more money allowing extra people in, they screwed the experience for 25 people and it's awful. Terrible customer service. Especially in a bloody multiplex when literally Bond had a showing in a every half an hour. Now I understand that sometimes if a film does terribly and another one breaks out, you do make changes. I'm not saying you shouldn't. Just don't choke other films.
  10. How could ELEMENTAL have lower admissions but higher daily gross than MI7? Shouldn't be the other way around as one is a family film?
  11. I'd say Colman Domingo for Rustin is a lock.
  12. I think there's a handful of market where it can outgross FALLOUT. Some decent drops despite Barbenheimer. It's just the domestic decrease and China pulling the film paints a bad worldwide tally.
  13. MARIO is toast. Cooked in a sweet pink bubblegum syrup. It's actually good news to have a quality film winning the year. MARIO was ok, but painfully average. Two years in a row an unexpected domestic #1.
  14. Yes. Lots of UK actors part of the SAG. LFF is already in trouble as lots of films are pulling out. Bring on Italian and French dramas and Scandinavian thrillers!!!
  15. Watch out TFA, BARBIE is coming for you! Loving how quickly WB is releasing this figures, they can't wait to get this epic numbers out there!
  16. Yes, we were expecting a higher OW domestically, but the reality is that even with RN legs it would have beat FALLOUT, so can't call that bad. The mix of Barbenheimer and SoF was just too much to deal with. If you look at overseas, it is doing FALLOUT numbers excluding China. So don't think they have to do anything drastic for DR2.
  17. Agreed. Quality wasn't the problem. It's doing what it was supposed to across the globe. Domestically it is cooked due to SoF and Barbenheimer. In China, it got limited release and pulled early, so that's unfortunate.
  18. Greta said it a few times that she is open to direct an action film. Cruise. Johansson. Chalamet. Saoirse Ronan. Greta. Make it happen.
  19. The Dark Knight 10/10 Interstellar 10/10 Inception 10/10 Batman Begins 9/10 The Prestige 9/10 Memento 8/10 Dunkirk 8/10 TDK Rises 8/10 Tenet 8/10 Insomnia 7/10 Following 7/10 I need another watch to land OP, but it's top 3 candidate.
  20. Not sure. Greta is genuinely a super cool person and has a great history with indie cinemas. He cares about the projects she is involved regardless the money. She is not going to become a corporate bunny overnight. After BARBIE she can do whatever she pleases, really. If the idea for the inevitable sequel comes organically, she might do it. No doubt that they would like to revisit that world and have more fun with it. She won't be a hired gun though.
  21. How do you mean? We got the gross, we got the threatre count, therefore we got the PTA.
