  1. YESSSSSS!!! Hope the number goes up a little too I want my man to take his third weekend at number 1! GET IT CHRISSY!!
  2. YES!! TWS will pass TFA domestically today!! I love my Super Soldier!! Also, really great number for HIFR. Hoping that Transcendence comes in 3 or 4 this weekend!!
  3. So, about $6 mil until it reaches the first CA's domestic number then? Doesn't seem so bad, the drop, since Tues. number was so high.
  4. Honestly, I'm really just happy that Cap's expanded so well globally. As for the numbers DOM go, it didn't crater this week, it (looks to) stay number 1 after the weekend actuals come in *fingers crossed*, and it's continuing to build the audience for Captain America, the character. (I admit if it the percentage was any closer to 60% and at number 2, I would've stayed off the boards the rest of the weekend). Why would anyone be disappointed in its performance?
  5. There's a Marvel vs. DC thread? LOLNOPE!! Not even touching that. Not at all…
  6. Hey! This is awesome. Do you have a link, though? I can't find it on Deadline's site or Twitter feed. Thanks.
  7. I'm trying to decide how many glasses of wine I'm going to need to get through 12 Years a Slave… I just opened a box of Target pink moscato. The real fancy shit.
  8. I have one rule; "like" any posts that raves about Mud. It felt like Stand by Me, but more twisted and atmospheric.
  9. LOL yep. I've already prepared myself, girded my loins, etc. for the emotional breakdown following. I may be doing a lot of watching behind pillows and blankets. August: Osage County was that bad, huh? Drats; was hoping it'd be good since it was shot in my home state Oh well… we will always have Twister!
  10. Dear Invite, the selling point for Tarsem would be The Fall. And Cell. BUT THE FALL! You had one job… I'm watching Twelve Years a Slave the moment I get my son to bed. Unless you all think it may be suitable for two-year-olds? Hm…
  11. Families, yo. Families. And those talking birds, dammit. I would be almost tempted to take my kid to it, but he's two and if I don't want to see a kid movie that looks rather shitty and he's not making me, then I ain't going
  12. Oh yeah… but in terms of an older actress, she's incredibly bankable now. Which is probably what I should've said rather than the overused/inappropriate "flawless" - which is really shorthand internetspeak for "really awesome". But even All About Steve came out the same year Blind Side did, so still she rather lucked out in the "bomb" department. It's kind of great that she's getting good action/comedy roles and great dramatic stuff that doesn't involve children or being a grandmother or something along those lines.
  13. To be fair, those actresses you listed are under a certain age, except for Sandra Bullock, but she's had an exceptional career especially as a post-40 year old actress. I do think there's an ageist/racist thing still in Hollywood among the gender divide. Sandra Bullock will be getting roles, but her box office record the older she's gotten is darn near flawless (save for that one movie with Bradley Cooper) but I doubt few would consider someone like Alfre Woodard, Angela Bassett (though I have to give props to WB for casting her in GL… though that ended up going nowhere) for high profile movies like Bullock's or Julia Roberts…. It'll be very interesting to see where both JLaw and ScarJo go in terms of their careers. Ditto Zoe Saldana, who I believe may be the highest profile actress of color right now.
  14. $11.9 for some reason, is a way more palatable number to me than $11mil. I don't know. My brain, I guess. I can live with a -56% decrease. That's around the neighborhood of what I was hoping for. Damn that first boxoffice.com projection. I know better than to get my hopes up so early, but still, it happens LOL!
  15. Ughhhhh… there is nothing in that sentence that's right. I feel like I want to break out the box wine now. Or I'll just go to bed and hope maybe there's a little boost tomorrow. Maybe. *stay above 60% Cap… stay above 60%*
  16. Yep. I just… don't even know. It's not like it dropped more than 61% and maybe it'll get a decent boost tomorrow. I was just expecting more. From the American audience
  17. That's really crazy about Rio 2's CS score. It seems to be a bigger crowd-pleaser than critic pleaser. Or maybe it'll be super frontloaded Friday. Maybe Cap 3 should include a talking CGI parrot in it
  18. I guess I'll have to live with number two AND a 59% drop. This really sucks the wind out of my sails though
  19. Until this thread I didn't even know there was an Ice Age 3, 4, and soon, 5. : I was legit better off not knowing that, people.
