  1. Pretty good jumps for Croods and Oz.
  2. Great hold from last week for Oz! I'd guess a little less. With a very good hold over this Easter weekend, it could get there on Sunday. Figure another 6-7M for Tues-Thurs. for 185-186. A 40% weekend drop would bring it to around 197-198. Better hold could put it over the top.
  3. Wow pretty good weekend all around. Easter is looking promising.
  4. Spectacular animation. It's definitely a family movie, but it seemed much more geared towards children than I anticipated. So much so that I didn't enjoy it so much as HTTYD, WiR or Brave. It seemed to lack the emotion and heart as some of DWA really good movies.
  5. 1. Iron Man 32. Oblivion3. Pacific Rim4. Star Trek into Darkness5. Thor: The Dark World6. Monsters University7. Fast 68. Frozen9. Jurassic Park IMAX 3D10. The Lone Ranger
  6. I think they've been trying to get a sequel. Who knows why it hasn't come through yet. Disney seems to have a few fairy tale movies on its plate like Malificent and Beauty and the Beast, so an Oz sequel may not happen as well. It's just that why shouldn't this have a sequel? If its a disaster like JC than I can understand why not, I don't believe its a financial disappointment as some have been saying.
  7. BOM has it at 156.8M. Added another 5.6 for the week.
  8. That's quite true. I was hoping that it'd do better OS but apparently not. I guess if RDJ or Depp were the lead you could slap on an extra 100-150WW (pure guessing there). Disney may have also wanted AiW numbers but in the end at least it's a decent introduction to a new franchise, should Disney go ahead with a sequel. And this is the kind of asset that Disney likes. Theme park, merchandise, family friendly franchise. A lot of movies, especially for families, produce revenue streams well beyond direct sales.
  9. Good hold for Oz despite The Croods!I saw Croods last night. It's more kid friendly, it's beautifully animated but definitely not as good as HTTYD.
  10. I wanted a better hold but at least it's holding it's own against a new family movie. Especially since The Croods seems to be much more I'd friendly.Solid numbers overall, just not as good as earlier estimates.
  11. A very nice start for Olympus. LOL just heard a radio spot calling it the first summer action movie. Damn summer started really early this year. I'll probably catch it tomorrow night.Oz hold at 25+ would be great! A sub 40% drop would be some good news. And Croods, I think DWA just got some breathing room. Not much but just a sigh of relief.
  12. Good hold for Oz. but weekly drop is higher than AiW. Hopefully weekend drop is better.
  13. Just goes to show how big of a draw Depp was
  14. Decent increases overall. But again Oz had the smallest bump in the top 10. It's doing worse than AiW's second week. Hopefully this isn't a trend and it recovers.
  15. Just guessing as wellMM Mad Max?JA Jupiter AscendingTH - The Hangover?PR - Pacific Rim?WoW - World of Warcraft?DC - DC Comics (Batman, Superman, etc)?TDTCotIGD&D Dungeons and Dragons??
  16. Sounds like he may have already signed on for a sequel.http://www.deadline.com/2013/03/tom-cruise-eyeing-the-man-from-u-n-c-l-e-with-guy-ritchie-at-warner-bros/
  17. So without Japan I think this'll top out at around 165, maybe 170. With Japan 185? Pretty damn good. And the sequel should increase nicely.
  18. Damn Oz went down. Getting ZDT tomorrow from iTunes, so how much longer will it be out in theaters? WIR still seems to be making some change even after release almost two weeks ago
  19. Maybe its just me but for whatever reason it seems like this board is looking for any reason for failure. Could be just the general BO malaise.
  20. Depp, Burton, and AiW is more well known. But I'm thinking Depp and Burton were the biggest reasons.
  21. My top 10 hasn't changed since last week.1. Iron Man 32. Star Trek into Darkness3. Pacific Rim4. Thor: The Dark World5. Oblivion6. Monsters University7. Fast 68. Frozen9. The Lone Ranger10. Jurassic Park IMAX 3D
  22. See no evil is a guilty pleasure. Same can be said about this movie I guess .
  23. the film is non-stop laughs and the theater I was in completely got into it. I mean, if I could've not seen it, I would've liked it; but for being an assigned movie for Newspaper, it was much more entertaining than, say, Gangster Squad. Most fun I've had at the movies since The Last Airbender. Sounds like something to expect from the WWE.
  24. Just saw the Italy release date. Is that new? You'd think there would be a release in Japan and/or China.
