  1. So The Day After Tomorrow increased 1% and then fell 10%, 20%, 66% for Tues, 18, 14, and then up 106 for Friday. Apply this to X7 = 37 OD, 29 Sat, 26.1 Sun, 20.5 Mon, and then do 7 Tues, 6 Weds, 5 Thursday, 10.0 Friday, 35M weekend. 3,3/day weekdays, 20M against Edge of Tomorrow, 2/day weekdays, 12 against dragon, 1.2/weekdays and we are at a total of 223.6M and onto the 5th weekend and another screen drop. If WOM shows in the X-men numbers for once, even slightly, it could challenge Lego and Cap 2.
  2. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=daily&id=x3.htm compare that with this
  3. Godzilla vs Da Vinci http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=daily&id=davincicode.htm
  4. Imagine it is 2002 and you witnessed a historial year in box office and the rise of cgi. The Mummy Returns, Pearl Harbor, Shrek, Hannibal, Planet of the Apes, Jurassic Park 3, Rush Hour 2 and American Pie 2 were all contributing to something special. The year then ends with Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. 2002 comes alone and Spider-man rewrites the box office. Attack of the Clones then does 80/110 and struggles for 300. that is it. no more hope of Star Wars reinventing the cinema. Star Wars forever just another number. The box office is a cruel cold world and just be happy that DOFP is at least a good movie and not a ripoff.
  5. 36 + 29 + 25 + 20 + 11 + 9 + 8 + 12 + 18 + 10 = 178 10 day. weekdays 4(3.5/day) + 22M 3rd weekend. = 214M 17 day weekdays 4(2/day) + 12 4th weekend = 234M 24 day
  6. Yeah, some parents were touched by the themes in X2 when Halle Berry gives her speeches.
  7. upset about the 90/110M 4-day Memorial OW for X-men? Now you know how I felt when Attack of the Clones did 80/110 4-day preceding Spider-man's record breaking OW. *shrug*
  8. the low opening for Blended is karma. It plopped into the schedule right before Million Ways to Die in the West. Low Blended # = good consistent June comedy openings.
  9. the more consistent these openers are, the better the outcome looks for Edge of Tomorrow =). Oh, and Interstellar for number 1 of the year!!!
  10. I think people are holding off until Sunday and Monday because they know this is the better movie and they want to wait until they are comfortable and alert to watch it. it is a 4 quadrant movie.
  11. I think it will hold up better than expected on Sunday and Monday and get 111M 4 day. 11 + 16 + 10 2nd weekend, 37M + (9+8+7)weekdays = 172 10 day total, 242 finish.
  12. well, X-men's fanbase has obviously shrunk, but it is still an excellent # and part 4 will then be able to open greater than 70M.....
  13. Interstellar Hobbit 3 Transformers 4 ... Apes 2 .... GOTG .... Spidey, Captain, Godzilla, x-men, Jupiter Transcendence, Storm
  14. There has been a bunch of 100M (or near) budgeted films this year that have flopped or done mediocre business. Since they flopped, they fell off the map. Please rank these since they contribute to the energy of 2014 film. 300: Rise of an Empire Robocop Noah Need for Speed Pompeii Transcendence I, Frankenstein The Legend of Hercules do any of these have good technology? does any cool scenes stick out? I saw Transcendence and I, Frankenstein. Transcendence had a good palette. Lots of good cinematography and shots of super computers, blinking lights etc. You could feel it. I, Frankenstein was crap, but it seemed it was made for 3-D. Maybe if seen in IMAX, the shots of the creatures flying around stimulated the senses with the eye candy??? i did not feel it, but i rented it and was trying to endure it.
  15. Godzilla Interstellar Jupiter Ascending TASM2 should get nominated but prob will not. Transformers 4? wierd that if a big cgi film gets bad reviews or does not become a big hit, it rarely gets nominated. What are they looking for in visual effects??? I guess that 2 December films will make use of technology to tell a dramatic story and get the other 2 nominations.
  16. the only reason i put B&R above is because at least you get 2 hours of colorful Gotham at night
  17. TAS2 was my 3rd favorite Spider-Man film, however I do think it is The Dark Knight of this Spider-man franchise and that Mark Webb did a really good job and borrowed from Nolan's energy to really put out a full effort from beginning to end.
