    This might be the biggest press tour of the year when it finally kicks off. This young cast is very buzz worthy in pop culture right now.

    This is Lionsgate big franchise film. They need it to be big, so I don’t blame them if they move it to next year.

    Barbie and Oppenheimer had all of their press tours basically done before being released. That’s not a good example.

    I agree that Snow White and ghostbusters aren’t heavy competition. In fact Snow White might be pushed anyways because there is no way is Deadpool making that May date.

    Greta Gerwig is getting paid too, her production company with Noah Bambach (NB/GG pictures) was involved as well.

    Mte. Quorum is irrelevant. The heavy marketing for this film probably won’t even kick in until October. The cast not being able to promote is unfortunate but I’m sure they did some promo prior to the strikes like a magazine covers and interviews. And stars are allowed to post their photo shoots on social media (that’s where timothee and zendaya, flo etc can come in) who knows the strike might be over by that point so they may not have to worry about that anyways.

    Well they’ve had 100 days to come up with a proposal so you would hope it’s decent.

    It’s not safe when several films had to stop production or haven’t even started yet. If this thing lasts deep into the fall they will be forced to start reshuffling dates.

    I’m sure more movies will get delayed but not everything will. We really have to worry about 2024 line up more than 2023 , especially Q4 2024.

    Right. The Emmys getting delayed has been known for awhile. They didn’t have writers so they can’t even plan the show normally. It was just a question of whether they would delay it to November or next year.

    Everyone knew the Emmy’s were getting delayed since the wga strike back in May. These shows are planned months in advance. That doesnt mean Dune can’t also be delayed just that the two things are unrelated.

    If it’s moving, I think it’s most likely March as well for those reasons. It’s annoying that this is happening twice to this franchise. But it is what it is.

    Challengers isn’t a big movie but it is one of those films that needs promo for awareness more than a film like The Marvels. If the bigger ticket 2023 movies start moving it’s really because the 2024 schedule is getting pushed.

    What trailers do we think are playing in front of Barbie? It looks like the biggest film of the summer so I’m surprised WB hasn’t released an Aquaman 2 teaser to attach to it.

    The fact that tv is gonna be more fucked than films is why I don’t see the strike lasting until next year. There will be some interim deals.

    Yes that was stupid. Especially since he says he wants to continue the MI franchise after DR. People are gonna be real confused probably thinking Part 2 is the last one.

    I think it should get to atleast 100m, it still has solid fanbase and some nostalgia now. Plus new fans are discovering it on streaming.
