  1. We’ll see how DGA goes, but Del Torro should be the front runner for BD. We’ll have another split this year.
  2. Not basing them entirely by the BAFTAS, I’m doing a weighted spreadsheet award compilation and using that to base my predictions on, and for editing Get Out would either need to win its ACE (which I think Baby Driver likely might) or get nominated for the BAFTA or both.
  3. If Get Out misses a BAFTA nom for editing it misses the Oscar nom for editing.
  4. Wind River is about 8 rankings better than Baby Driver to be exact.
  5. Get Out isn’t even a solid bet for an editing nomination. I don’t think it wins over Dunkirk or Baby Driver.
  6. Wouldn’t expect any less from the awards show that brought you “Hidden Fences”
  7. I do think Get Out will likely win Screenplay if it ends up winning. Lady Bird will for sure have Metcalf.
  8. Get Out and Lady Bird really have an advantage because of how the preferential ballot works. Every other movie has its detractors (especially Three Billboards), but even the people who won’t rank those two at 1 will rank them high enough to benefit them.
  9. I think Three Billboards could win screenplay at the Oscars if it’s what goes on to win picture. That’s a strong possibility. Get Out needs the screenplay win to win BP, Lady Bird likely does too. That’ll be the award to watch.
  10. Still think Oldman’s the one to beat unless Kaluuya or Franco take the SAG
  11. This is Me winning song is a disgrace. The category should be removed from the show, if obviously can’t produce good winners anymore.
  12. Especially since The Florida Project is a non-factor, being from a BP contender that’s getting a lot of guilds love should help him a lot. I kind of expect him to take the SAG.
  13. I have no stakes in any of these teams so I may just root on the Pats because I have respect for Belcichek’s coaching decisions. He makes counterintuitive decisions that often end up being more efficient than intuitive ones, and I respect that.
  14. I think Rockwell might end up winning, but he’ll need either the SAG or BAFTA (or both), Globe’s not enough at all.
  15. If that happens then It’s time for the Globes... to End.
  16. NFC Vikings Saints Winner: Vikings Eagles Falcons Winner: Eagles Eagles Vikings Winner: Vikings AFC Steelers Jaguars Winner: Jaguars Patriots Titans Winner: Patroits Patriots Jaguars Winner: Patroits Superbowl Patriots Vikings Winner: Patriots
  17. I mean if you are only dividing movies into drama or comedy, I think a horror movie would fit into drama. While a light hearted action movie like Ragnarok would fit in comedy.
  18. Haven’t seen I, Tonya but the trailer plays moare satirical in nature (similar to a Wolf of Wall Street kind of tone) which may fit it in a comedy category. But again, I haven’t seen it so I can’t say for sure whether it’s category fraud or not.
  19. Yeah, and it’s not like a drama needs to be sad, but it needs to have a tone that’s more serious in nature. There’s plenty of light dramas, but despite the humor they take their subjects more seriously and less light hearted. Lady Bird would be right in between, I wouldn’t object to it being in either category. It’s really a dramedy.
  20. Most anticipated blockbusters/big budget movies for 2018 1. Deadpool 2 2. Mary Poppins Returns 3. First Man 4. Solo: A Star Wars Story 5. Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 6. The Incredibles 2 7. Black Panther 8. Ready Player One 9. Avengers: Infinity War 10. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
  21. I didn’t even know that movie was a thing, they really didn’t market it
