  1. I wouldn't jump on that. There's no reason to think Moana's music isn't going to fantastic, especially if you listen LMM's previous works with In the Heights and Hamilton. Not to mention LMM is all of the rage right now. La La Land will need to be more than decent to beat the LMM storm. Either that, or Moana's music is going to have to be very disappointing (which I'm doubting, but it's possible it having all of the Disney constraints might hold him back a lot. Which still seems like a stretch given Disney has a strong musical reputation). There's no reason to believe La La Land is going to get a BP nom anyways, it might, but it doesn't have all the buzz going for it like Whiplash did.
  2. Always Look on the Bright Side of Life is hysterical, it's the most iconic moment of any Monty Python movie, sketch, play, musical, oratorio, etc. I still die of laughter when it gets to the end of the movie and the song starts.
  3. Falling Slowly was a better song though, Enchanted's music wasn't that great.

  5. I'm hoping when this all finishes that we can get a spin-off series, literally about anything (because GRRMs world is so rich). Personally Id love a spin-off series in the Far East of Essos (far past Quarth) centered around Assai, the Shadowlands, and the Yellow Emperors. Also, in Martin's lore the Sothyos (however you spell it) continent based off Africa has lovecraft inspired underground gods which could be fun for a spin-off. The only problem is these kind of spin-offs wouldn't really be Martin inspired. Sure he has a few sentences of lore about the places written, and probably has some ideas about the direction they'd go in, but you couldn't reach the same heights of Thrones.
  6. Yeah, I could see them getting away with a Spring/Fall 2017 split, that gives them more time to film, and it makes the wait not as bad for only getting 7 episodes in the Spring. A year wait for 7 and 8 episodes feels cruel.
  7. So splitting the 7th season up is confirmed? I'm still mixed on this. I know the plan was 7 seasons so this is just adding more episodes, but I feel like we could use two full seasons. Plus waiting a year for only 7 and 8 episodes feels lackluster, 10 is already a short amount. Unless of course they do 7 episodes in the spring and the final 8 in the fall.
  8. I think it's only including the episode itself (maybe the previously on too). I remember looking at the run time on HBOGo for say Oathbreaker, the confirmed runtime (like the 51, 60, 59, 69 minute confirmed run times) was in the 50 range whereas including promis and behind the scenes it was over 60. I think this is just for actual screen time + the intro.
  9. Yeah, this was a really strong episode the more you let it settle. Not action packed, but it was contemplative about everything you think the story is about.
  10. I've given like 3 As, 5 Bs, 5-6 Cs, like 8-9 Ds, 4-5 Fs, and 1 Z And I feel like I've overall been generous with all of my grades that aren't As this year. I'm being stricter about what I give an A+ or A this year as I felt I gave out to many last year that I didn't feel were as warranted a good time after seeing them.
  11. The Shallows looked really dumb, but that likely means I'll get dragged into it as I've given more Ds and Fs this year than As, Bs, and C's combined (or close to it)
  12. How come there's no, NO SPOILERS on this thread? Especially given this could have a better opening and legs than a certain other superhero movie with that tag line right now
  13. Jan was pretty exciting for the first half. Star Wars holding over and the Revenant were fun.
  14. Dang, that's a massive drop from the 12m or so when I stopped playing (at least playing playing, I've tried out the new expansions but I don't have time for it like I used to. Plus, you can only raid for so long before you're done with it)

  16. I would never subject my kids to such bad quality filmmaking unless I needed to punish them for being naughty.
  17. Hell, if/when I have kids, they're seeing all three of those movies as soon as they come out of the womb.
  18. To be fair, we haven't been hit by the sequel onslaught yet. While I like some sequels, I also get a little disappointed when very talented groups spend so much time on them. Sure, some are fun, but it can often feel like a talented director/studio wasting their time
  19. Warcraft could be at 0% and Id go see it. It was either going to be a pleasant surprise or a guilty pleasure. Just seeing the world live action brings back memories of the games for me, whether it's quality or not.
  20. Maybe try to get a group to go. Like 5 girls and you be the one guy. Maybe also invite one couple with the group to make the other 4 girls feel lonely and look at the only other available guy for the attention
  21. I actually want to see it, but nobody wants to go with me. Even if I offer to pay.
  22. The amount of people who vote on Flixter who haven't seen it is rather small. It's not perfect, in fact I ignore it and go with the RT meter. But still, this is the first time I've seen somebody say they use CinemaScore to determine if they should go see a movie or not.
  23. I don't mind as long as it gets a few sequels. I just want to see Reign of Chaos and The Frozen Throne play out on the big screen and then I'm good.
