So if Deadline is correct, and SW7 just hits their minimum of 170m 2nd weekend, then that's a 31.06% drop from 247.9m OW and an 11.5% drop from the OW minus previews. That is truly a Titanic kind of hold off of such a massive OW (which broke the last OW record by around 40m btw) -
That's an absolutely insane weekend number... Now will it go higher or lower? Because Deadline always changes their early estimates considerably.

They should delay the Blu Ray release to the May the 4th, that's enough time to let it have a complete run and capitalize on Blu ray sales.

Just buy a Star Wars ticket, contributing to the cause, then go into Hateful Eight. With all the Star Wars hecticness, I doubt an usher would notice

Thatd be much smarter. It's better to hurt a movie from Fox that likely won't even be made in time for 2017 than one of your own movies. Plus, a Guardians works better in the summer, and away from the movie it's delightfully ripping off.

True... I could honestly see it have a large Christmas increase than Avatar, but a slightly smaller Saturday increase to compensate.

I think it's number one until I come and slay in the movie I'm starring in this January.

So, I'll take the middle of 28m and hold it like Avatar for the weekend. Fri: 58m Sat: 71m Sun: 61.1m Weekend: 190.1m As insane as these weekdays have been, I still doubt it could get that high.

That's 6% better than Avatar with bigger numbers. Anything sub 30% is fantastic. It also means we're in for a 55m+ Christmas Day!
