  1. My "At Least" Forecast #7 for total gross, December 19:

    Name; Copies; Total gross $;

    The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug;  ~2000;  43m

    Walking with Dinosaurs 3D;  ~1400;  4,5m

    The country of good children*; ~400; 0,5m

    *Local.

    **There is also a bunch of other movies, but their results not worth mentioning at all(less than 0.5m).

    Fortunately or not, but The Wolf of Wall Street has moved to Feb. 6, it's pretty busy weekend too, almost 10 wide releases, some of them, for example: Robocop, Out of the Furnace, Instructions Not Included, That Awkward Moment, The Physician, two big local movies(animation and Olympic-linked comedy, not to mention possible holdovers), American Hustle coming out weekend after is not in good position too.

  2. Paradise outside the window, all white white, 20 cm layer of snow and it continues to fall, drivers are crazy, visibility within 50 meters.

    Perfect Winter.

  3. Just saw Russian dubbed "Interstellar" trailer and you can't imagine how wrong it looks, unless your own country has more than a half-century working space program, i.e. you're Russian(/Soviet), narrator speaks Russian on purely American matter implying that to all humanity, and while for the rest of the world it's perfectly fine, because they weren't pioneers in this, and the majority of the world is pro-West, it's sounds horribly wild in our situation.

    I understand that the trailer is for American politicians, that doesn't willing to give that much money to NASA, that's why there is an accent on the last space shattle mission), but adressing also would work if you'd include some frames that'll make the teaser International, or you just release it only in US.

    For some who doesn't understand why this is wrong, you need to understand that Humans can not be a Space Race(Civilization) until shit like this will be cut off completely, WE SHARE SPACE(and all the things associated with it).

    There is no split up there(every astronaut speaks English and Russian).

    I hope Nolan gets this vision, the only other way is war until 1 culture is left(or, more likely, none).

    Harsh drop for Frozen, but 22m+ is locked anyway and the real top for now is $30m, $25m barrier is likely to be passed, road to Holidays is open and local animation is set to do worse.

  5. With the Hobbit 2, i see situation like this: OD floor is $2,5m(Wed), but i don't think that even 3m is locked, cause there is not much of a hype, fans bought tickets weeks ago and that's it, no sellouts, for $45m+ total to be locked it needs to open with $22m+ 5-day OW and this is not happening...

  6. Openers Sunday(ekinobilet):

    $200k+ for CF, decreased with everybody :(.

    Frozen actually increased, awesome result.

  7. So Leyla and Cosmonaut,what are your most anticipated movies for the coming year?

    I don't really anticipate much...

    Jan 1 - Wolf of Wall street, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

    These i'm willing to see in theater for sure, but who is going to show them on a big screen...

    I actually wonder how many people will go to see a movie January 1st, especially in the morning( :D), because normally there are no people on the streets, it's like ghost town, pretty much nobody needs to go out, stores closed etc.

  8. Openers Saturday(ekinobilet):
