  1. As far as i know the main reason for that is the strong USD (except for Russia, where the Ruble is on a downward spirale due to economic crysis) so it should be having an effect everywhere (to varying degree).
  2. What was the opening weekend of Transformers 4 and Interstellar?
  3. It is save to say BOFA will not make $1b. DOS made about $625m without China (at this point, it also hasn't opened in Japan yet), BOFA will at the very best hit $590m. Considering it'll finish with about $260m in North America it needs $150m from China for $1b. Not gonna happen.

  5. So we are less than two weeks into new year and you are already in doom and gloom mode? You are reading way too much into the first 10 days. That's 10 out of 365. Nothing. Forgotten the movie slate? There's a lot of heavy hitter coming this year.
  6. Let's hope it's within reasonable limits coz Friday increases are gonna be likely muted.
  7. It'll probably be less severe simply because it's a week earlier in its run.
  8. Well, Hobbit was less inflated, hence the relatively good increases today.
  9. At least during opening weekend it was about 60% over the age of 25 and male if i remember correctly.
  10. They'll probably still drop like shit. Monday seemed to have been inflated, hence the small increases / drops.
  11. Hobbit behaves less like a family movie as could be seen during the holidays. It skews older and male.
  12. Every little bit helps, i guess. We never got an update on last week's gross. I wonder if it's coz it didn't change or they just didn't report it... The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies weekend 1: $122.1 million [37 markets] / $122.1 million weekend 2: $109 million [59 markets] ($269 million) / $358.1 million weekend 3: $89.2 million [62 markets] ($405.1 million) / $573.6 million (est.) weekend 4: $54 million [65 markets] ($504.6 million) / $725.2 million The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug weekend 1: $135.4 million [49 markets] / $209 million weekend 2: $97.4 million [56 markets] ($278.4 million) / $406 million weekend 3: $99.7 million [62 markets] ($424.8 million) / $616.1 million weekend 4: $58 million [64 markets] ($527 million) / $756.6 million weekend 5: $22.2 million [62 markets] ($566 million) / $802.8 million (est.) 13. Let's not stop here. Thursday will be about $1.5m, Friday $2.8m, Saturday $5m and Sunday $3.1m.
  14. Lack of competition? I'm hearing on its 2nd weekend 4 movies based on popular cartoons are gonna open. Maybe not huge hits on their own but it's four of them, which will take away screens.
  15. I know about the site but it has such a confusing layout. I think i can read that list, though.
