A month ago I said (don't remember in which topic) 15M+ for Rogue One. It was a very bad prediction. R1 failed to attract moviegoers out of SW fanbase (that in itself is increased after TFA thanks to new young fans) and makes the low for the saga. Star Wars saga admissions 4.886.740 - EP 4 (1977) 3.432.399 - EP 7 (2015) 3.181.407 - EP 5 (1980) 2.743.068 - EP 6 (1983) 2.361.199 - EP 1 (1999) 1.651.643 - EP 2 (2002) 1.474.741 - EP 3 (2005) 1.342.336 - Rogue One (2016) still in play

In Italy is doing good, in line with a medium animated but far far away from the top titles. However it's doing better than Sing, that is always a good thing. The only amazing run I see is France. -

Moana WW Countdown -
January 6 is holiday here. Boxoffice fell 34% YoY but LY there was the "Quo Vado" phenomenon with a 6M€+ day. By the way, I think that if you want post numbers every day you might copy data from this source: cineguru.screenweek.it they have final cinetel numbers with screens, average, total and comparison with LW and LY. They update around 9.00/10.00 am GMT+1.

No, almost all the cinemas (especially multiplex) are open 365/365. Some small screens are closed in August. -
The difference between SIAE and CT numbers is that they collect datas in a different way (CT often updates after 1-2 days). For example this is the top ten of October from CT As you can see some movies are up and other are down from SIAE datas, it depends in which day some tickets are registered. More, SIAE counts also the "for free" screening in exhibitions, fairs, theme events or other for which the organizers pay a share of the fees, but that don't impact in the real theatrical gross. So, we can say that CT numbers at least for Euros, are true at 99%

Film Piracy (opinions and box office effect)
edroger3 replied to That One Girl's topic in Box Office Discussion
I mostly download old movies, but sometimes also new releases. I can say in my excuse that in 9 on 10 times, I after saw the movie at the cinema. Different is for the DVD/BR: The only title I bought in past ten years was Frozen. I read that some cinema chains operators think that the "pirates" are their best customers. In my case, many times I wouldn't go to the cinema without a positive "pirate preview" maybe of only 20/30 minutes. Remember that a cinematic experience costs 25/30 €/$ in ticket-food-drink-moving from/to home. -
In next days Sing and the strongest local title of this holiday frame (Mr Felicità) opening. There is also The BFG (even if I don't think it does great). Il Moana will survive to this will be 12/14. Meanwhile we have also the theatre screening of Frozen with live orchestra and performers. It had its premiere in Rome a day ago with a tragic ending: the orchestra conductor, offended by some people leaving the show too early while others were still applauding (maybe he was thinking it was a classical music concerto), told at the microphone that "Santa Claus does not exist" in front of hundreds of little childrens, leaving them crying and having their Christmas ruined. The Parents's reaction has been awful and the conductor immediately replaced. The poor conductor perhaps don't knew the media appeal of the word "Frozen": the fact has gone directly in the homepages of the whole internet. the news in english from The Sun the news in spanish from el mundo
