    You are in right, but we should wait the officials to make serious reflections. In past montys our friend Ray of BOM, according to estimates data, announced a new record (The Lego Movie in President Day weekend) in his report, but with actuals... the record wasn't a record.

    Disney not for sure. Oz had a budget of 215 in production and another 100+ in distribution and marketing for a total of 320. It grossed 490, so studio revenues was 490x0,55=270. The result is a -50 even if dvd and bluray sales and rentals saved the day. Maleficent budget is larger than Oz, so WW gross less than 600 means a disaster. In comparison Frozen revenues for Disney (cinema, home cinema, gadgets, toys, books, theme park and music) are already more than 1 Billion.

    Usually Japan weekend data is 2-days (sat/sun) but TASM2 opened on friday, so 5,2 is 3-days gross and 4,1 is 2-days gross.

    These are estimates data. In Italy, for example, when Bom updates os data it's sunday 5.00 PM: cinemas closed seven hours after!

    Animated and family movies does their better in sunday (or in other midweek holidays) afternoon, superhero or all kind of adult movies can take advantage in saturday evening and night shows, which does non happen in sunday because people works on monday. So, in the whole world.

    Finally, after 155 days in release (112 in top ten), Frozen passes 400M$ in North America. It's the 5th original movie to do this in its first run in cinemas after Titanic, Spiderman, Avatar and The Hunger Games.

    Frozen is in it's 7th consecutive weekend at #1 and is yet the biggest imported animated ever. This week opened also in 3d dubbed and sing-along release and many screens are sold-out. In addiction to japanese frozen's folly, TASM2 opened in a less number of screens than TASM and in my honest opinion isn't a great movie: tons of cgi, dozen of carachters, twilight-level dialogues and a little bit Spiderman.

    It's hard, but with 800 screens avaliable is still possible. Rarely movies have daily grosses over 1,2M€ if aren't local comedy. (In past months frozen had a 1,9M€ day but ... was frozen)
