  1. Great fucking movie by the way. Beautifully told story of fame and abuse and manipulation with two great actors in the front. Baz found dead in a ditch.
  2. In hindsight, Captain Marvel 2 being a Carol/Shang-Chi adventure would have worked tons better and got people more hyped. You already teased those two characters doing stuff together in the Shang-Chi credits, you have Carol working with a cool breakout character, you combine the space side of Marvel with the mystical side of Marvel. Coulda been a fun buddy thing between them. But oh well.
  3. I remember one time Charlie here found my Twitter and was surprised to discover I was white actually. I...had no idea how to respond to that. And I still don't. 😕
  4. Lol that's the one that's stuck in my head too. I find myself humming the opening once in a while. Don't know why.

  6. Moderation We're done with this whole "icky girls shouldn't be in 'male' IPs". There's a lot of weird sexist nonsense going on here with some posters and how it's bad to make your male-dominant projects more appealing to a wider audience, and it's sickening. Please move on to something else and quit this sexist garbage. Thank you.
  7. I kinda get where Scott's coming from? Hunger Games is kind of a weird franchise where it's super depressing and hits too close to home, but is also too goofy as a concept to really take it seriously. So like it's in a no man's land of appeal and makes it hard to come back in a post-Trump world. It's like how 24 only ever worked during the Bush years and nowhere else. I have doubts this wrestling is as strong as Mendolsohn says, but I do think this is a franchise that really needs to update itself if it wants to be relevant, and I am curious after this reaction. And yeah, most of the reactions indicate that, at the very least, Viola and Peter do some great ham and that Rachel supremacy will soon be upon us. That's more than enough for me.
  8. You may get a smile out of this, but that means one movie next year will cause the Russian government go crazy and hack one of the studios. My money's on Despicable Me 4.
  9. Oh he knows. Literally every day he is asking people about how well Thanksgiving is doing. When will the embargo lift? When will reviews drop? Every day with this dude.

  11. Really does feel like a missed opportunity not to have Trolls 3 open this weekend. Could have probably done 45M more or less being the first big kids movie since Paw Patrol, get a boost from Veteran's Day in its second weekend, have comfortable distance from Wish, and Universal can have more time to promote and prioritize Migration this Christmas. It could even get more PLFs to itself, even if it wouldn't sell that much in those formats. Now it'll probably open somewhere in the 30s, get dinged hard by Wish by the time Wednesday rolls around, and has greater potential to get lost in the shuffle. Just a weird release date all around.
  12. Just imagine what might have been. Woulda crushed all the competition 😭
  13. There's kind of a good reason. You can gift a ticket to friends and family a la Sound of Freedom on Fandango. Guess people are trying to use that incentive right away.

  15. Here's my thing: I consider 95% of all PG-13 movies to be kids movies. And that's especially true for big blockbusters like DC and Marvel. They get nominated at the Kids Choice Awards every year, they have kiddie concepts attached to them, there's Happy Meal tie-ins, they sell their toys in Target next to the Hot Wheels, they sell lunchboxes and backpacks with those characters, commercials for these movies air on Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network. Those check all the boxes for kids movies. Yes, that includes The Batman or Doctor Strange 2 or whatever else people think is "too much" for kids. This also applies to Transformers, to Barbie, to Avatar, and so on. There are some exceptions in the PG-13 blockbuster landscape of course. I don't really believe this qualifies for Jason Bourne or Mission: Impossible, since they have concepts and stories a bit too complex for kids and don't see tons of ads on kids channels. But considering Marvel movies have a big kid audience, are advertised towards kids, and have merchandise aimed at kids...yeah, I think they are kids movies. And that's fine. There's nothing wrong with enjoying something aimed at children. I have a fondness for all kinds of kids movies, including PG-13 fare. And really, I use "silly kids movie" as a term in order to make people realize "Oh wow. I'm taking these arguments and fights way too far. This is something I need to curb back". How effective it is can be up for debate, but I think sometimes it gives people perspective that we need to chill on the fights and battles. Like what are we doing here? And frankly, "silly kids movie" is one of the softest digs you can give towards these movies IMO. I could say a lot meaner stuff about them than that and I know our users are mature and can handle something so innocuous being said about the movies they like.
  16. Moderation We're done with this "which was treated worse" crap with Wonder Woman and The Marvels. We don't do this petty fanboy war nonsense here anymore, and everybody here knows this will lead to pointless fights over some silly kids movies. So why even bother bringing it up? Anybody who continues this further will see a threadban.
  17. Moderation I said we're not doing this interrogation over Shindaya. If you want to believe them, fine. If you don't want to, also fine. Just don't antagonize them over it. Thank you.
