  1. My favorite thing about it all is how they took a quote of Chris Pratt of him saying his childhood crush was Jem out of context and was reworked into this 36-year-old man dating a 17-year-old pop star. How Jon Chu and Jason Blum thought this was totally okay and not a stupid thing to add in the movie I will never know.
  2. Looking at Nope's Thursday, I think we're now getting 18M, which is a 59% fall. So like...I guess L + Ratio? Sorry!
  3. Probably a better joke than any of the jokes found in the movie. HEY-O!
  4. Following Paws of Fury takes this to about 27.5M. Which like I know is not anything that good, but could have been worse I suppose.
  5. There is actually. There's this website called The Quorum which publicly shows awareness and interest metrics for upcoming movies. It's a really great resource https://thequorum.com/

  7. I'll probably be wrong/get laughed out of the room for this, but I think Super Pets could have a surprisingly good IM and do like what Paws of Fury did (12.5x). Like yeah I know it's opening a lot higher than that movie and its a DC property, but even with the franchise branding, this seems like a movie that's skewing to really young kids and won't have any Pixar/Minions style older crowd interested in checking the movie out right away and I don't think this is a big priority for DC fans to see right away like they would with a live-action piece.

Don't know if this is applying to elsewhere in the country, but this should indicate previews in the 2M range, which means it would at least meet tracking and hit #1.
  9. Chick lit adaptations aren't really as fan-driven as you might think. Gone Girl was a more iconic source material and did 4.47x its opening despite a B Cinemascore. Which like...yeah that had Oscar buzz, but even Girl on the Train, which earned a disastrous B- Cinemascore, still did three times its opening. This is also anecdotal, but a whole bunch of coworkers today mentioned seeing the movie together on a girls night out because they read the book together and couldn't stop raving about it. It's a hit!
  10. They made a whole livestream where the trailer plays on a loop, counting down to each and every minute. This is the most extra thing I have ever seen and I love Papa Nolan for this

  13. If Nope follows Black Phone's first week, we get about a first week of 63.5M and a second weekend of...let's say 21.8M. Black Phone had a low Saturday jump and high Sunday hold because of the holiday stuff, so I'm kind of improvising here. @WrathOfHan I hate it when you're right lol 🙃
  14. This is just people trying to cope over people not wanting Letitia to be in these movies anymore. And like I get Shuri's not everybody's cup of tea (even though she was the best in Black Panther but whatevz) and her antivax stuff sucks, but sometimes you just have to accept things you don't like will happen and to just move on. It's not like a good chunk of the other MCU cast members have many progressive viewpoints anyways.
