  1. Stuff like Narcos and Bojack Horseman have already appeared on syndication. High School Musical: The Series popped up on Disney Channel to hype up season 2. Disney and Warner own cable channels and broadcast networks, so I'd imagine Soul and Luca and Godzilla vs. Kong and Space Jam 2 to pop up on those channels. They're also readily available on home media or are set to be on home media, so it'll be pretty easy to watch these movies outside of their streaming services. And even then, when you consider how movies these days are reliant on their franchises and corporate overlords, most of the audience for these movies...are already on these services. If Black Widow was exclusively on Disney+, I don't think the Marvel fanbase will be unable to access the film.
  2. Guys I know why Green Knight isn’t doing well. You don’t have to explain why to me. I’m just saying I wanted it to have good legs because I liked the movie and wanted to see it do well and buck the usual audience trend.
  3. Pity. Kinda hoped this would be a Hereditary situation where there would be surprisingly good legs in spite of the audience scores. Oh well

  5. For the first part, the big issue with Mortal Kombat, outside of being dreadful (honestly up there with Coming 2 America as one of the worst movies of the year, though I'll admit I haven't bothered with most of the year's dreck), it only really appealed to folks who were already fans of the franchise, as seen by its legs and poor non-fan reception. I mean even fans thought the movie kinda sucked. And I'm sure despite the strong initial viewings on HBO Max, I doubt Mortal Kombat held up well enough, critically or financially, to make Warner think it was worth even doing a TV show spin-off. Movies like Mortal Kombat exist to excite new audiences into a series. If it doesn't, and fans already don't care for it, why pursue any further when you have better options? As for the second part, streaming movies don't really make profit. They are made at a loss, but the idea is that these movies either excite people to get a subscription or keep current subscribers engaged and invested in the service. All the while, subscription revenue basically "pays" for the film's budget. Of course, streaming services take a while to actually make a profit because of all the original content they make each year (Netflix only just started turning a profit entirely thanks to COVID shutdowns), but this is a long-term game that reaps benefits once it does. If you're talking specific revenue or profits made for one movie, there's also toy sales, DVDs, digital purchases or rentals, cable airings, etc. This isn't really seen with Netflix or Amazon (the DVDs for stuff like House of Cards or Fuller House are produced by their production studios), but Disney and Warner have their own home entertainment and merchandising divisions, which is why Soul and Luca are now on 4K Blu-Ray. I'm sure they'll also pop up on Disney Channel or Freeform in the coming years too.
  6. Pretty sure Alice 2 holds that record...The Suicide Squad might break it though, depending on how the next few weeks shape up
  7. Well Wick's current spot is also the same date as Mission: Impossible 7, so that might not happen
  8. So are we not getting Deadline updates today? I remember we didn't get the usual Friday updates when Space Jam 2 dropped, so is this gonna be a constant for WB releases this year? That's kinda dumb.
  9. Filming on water can get pretty costly. They also have a pretty massive port set which can boost up a film's budget quite a bit.

  12. And people tried to doubt me. Eternals and Encanto will get Premier Access too. Chapek and co. don't give a single damn about the theatrical experience and he will do anything to get his way, even if it means paying Papa Feige or Jolie or whoever a fortune. We also all know some sort of garbage COVID variant will rage this winter. It'll probably be impervious to our current vaccines for all we know. I know this is going to strike a nerve, but you know I'm right and you know Disney never cared about movie theaters or the gravitas of a theatrical exclusive release anyways.
  13. And now that my Free Guy comp is up...I have to give one final message to good ol' @WrathOfHan before I'm done for the evening...

Don't really have anything else to add.
  15. Wait...did Jacksepticeye do something wrong? He always seemed like one of the few real ones in terms of gaming YouTubers.
