The Box Office Buzz and Tracking Thread: Electric Boogaloo

Like a Boss Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report Final Count Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 0 34 418 4,864 3.47% Total Shows Added Today: 2 Total Seats Added Today: 200 Total Seats Sold Today: 256 Comp 1.665x of Stuber (1.25M) 0.595x of Good Boys (1.25M) 0.385x of Hustlers (963K) Decided to drop the other comps, since I feel like they'll be way too low. Guess that number is fine enough for a low teens opening, which is passable enough for comedies these days -

1917 Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report Final Count Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 0 33 1,137 6,609 17.20% Total Shows Added Today: 4 Total Seats Added Today: 1,250 Total Seats Sold Today: 620 Comp 2.354x of Angel Has Fallen (3.53M) 2.399x of Ad Astra (3.60M) 2.682x of Rambo (3.49M) 1.305x of Terminator (3.07M) 5.099x of Midway (4.72M) 2.850x of Ford v Ferrari (5.98M) 4.797x of Neighborhood (4.32M) Well shit. With numbers like these, 45M isn't even out of the question. Of course anything over 30M would be an amazing accomplishment, and that's not to say this movie is doing bad if it doesn't hit these high numbers, but the potential looks to be there. -

Started a long time ago. Sales have been pretty decent so far, about 5 times more than Dolittle, though of course I'm tracking Big Willie's home turf, so there's bias here. -

Like a Boss Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-1 and Counting Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 0 32 272 4,664 3.47% Total Seats Sold Today: 110 Comp 2.450x of Stuber 1 day before release (1.84M) 1.432x of Good Boys (3.01M) 0.575x of Hustlers (1.44M) 1.519x of Black and Blue (1.03M) 1.162x of Harriet (697K) Decided to add in a couple more black-led comps, since a Haddish vehicle probably will mean a Philly overperformance. Today's sales were inflated by Girls Night Out showings, but hey, that's still money for the movie. We'll see how things turn out, though its reviews are definitely making me go "hmm" -

Not much else to say, though we'll see if the numbers go any higher. -
Reading it over, it sounded like a machine was going to determine what gets greenlit, and...yeah, that's a little bit creepy and impersonal to me. Maybe that's not what it is intended for at all, but it sounded like that.
