Haven't paid close attention to the Supporting Actress race, but does J-Lo have a shot for Hustlers? Seems like all the reviews are pointing to her as the standout, and the movie looks like it will be a hit.
There actually is one from STX on Halloween weekend called Countdown. I can't find the trailer online, but I got the preview at It 2, and...yikes lmao.
But more than likely, it's probably a case where studios saw the logjam of Joker/Zombieland/Maleficent and decided it was best to sit this one out.
It 2 was about the same as the first movie (fine/10), but did anyone get the trailer for that horror movie about a phone app that predicts people's deaths? It's gotta be up there as one of the goofiest premises I've seen in a long time.
I'm with you on most of that stuff, especially the midbudget adult movie section. But for Irishman, I sincerely doubt people would be eager to spend 3.5 hours seeing a crime drama in theaters back in 2007.
btw to add into the Joker legs debate, feel like SS/JL legs are a certainty IMHO. There will be fans, but I feel like a lot of the darker/controversial stuff should still cause at least some divisiveness. If Zombieland or Gemini Man also manage to land, that also cuts into the film's main audience.
With a 33 True Friday, if the movie follows the first IT, that would be at about 106.4M. I don't expect it to hold as well, but 100M is much more likely than I thought earlier this morning.
