  1. Moderation You know guys, instead of being annoying, how about you...just don't? Please don't do this kind of Nolan v Villenuve fanboy war nonsense. It's embarrasing and obnoxious. Please discuss the greatness that is Timothee Chalamet instead.
  2. You take that back! Anyways, finally saw it, and I dig a lot of it here. Especially Timothee's hair. At least they got the eye candy right

  5. Trying to see as little as possible before the trailer debut. I might not even get to see it tomorrow, because I’ll be at work all day tomorrow, and I do not want to watch this future masterpiece after being exhausted by 8 hours of customer service. Basically, don’t @ me, message me, discuss the trailer with me, etc. until I have mentioned I see it. This is a message to everyone
  6. Trolls World Tour seemed to do just fine for families at that $20 price. Granted this was right when the economy was going downhill, but it's not like kids and families didn't already have a massive catalog from Netflix or Disney+ to watch for free. And of course an original Pixar title might not be as easy to sell as a live-action remake to an evergreen property, but with a solid campaign behind it, certainly it's much better to at least try and get some cash flow in rather than lose potential revenue by sticking it on there for free, even if the latter would give it more views.
  7. We've already got plans for The On Demand Theory on standby. We'll debate over iTunes charts and twiddle our thumbs waiting for Netflix to reveal streaming viewership every couple of months. It's gonna be great.

  10. Nielsen just recently began tallying views, albeit minutes watched, for Netflix and Amazon shows. Obviously their foray is in TV, but I would think there can be a third-party source that can look at movie or original viewership if there was interest, right? Anecdotal of course, and obviously this isn't a perfect indication of success, but I feel like there's been a fair amount of discussion of Mulan on my Twitter feed, albeit most of it leaning negative. Certainly has felt like it's been a bit more discussion there than Tenet at this point of time, though maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places.
  11. I believe there is. But if you want me to get rid of it, I’ll change it when I get home from work
  12. This conversation has passed, but I didn’t have time to talk about this in-depth because I’m at work. But anyways... Using Disney+’s Trending as a way to measure Milan’s success or failure is a load of malarkey. First off, the way a movie is placed in a Trending section on a streaming service doesn’t automatically mean it’s the most popular item. Netflix has a daily Top 10, but also a “Trending Now” section. And while Cobra Kai is #1, “Trending Now” currently has Umbrella Academy first in their line up. Cobra Kai doesn’t even pop up there. Maybe Disney+ does things differently and maybe their placements do matter. But even then, that shows no indications about whether it’s sailing or not. Hell, right now Mulan is first on the section, so it’s not like it’s at the bottom or something, again assuming it’s placement does matter. And really, this says absolutely nothing about Mulan’s actual sales or purchases. This is not me saying I think Mulan is a mega hit or people are buying it like hot cakes. Frankly, unless Disney announces their sales or revenue, or a source from Deadline or whatever mentions it in an article, or we see whether Disney will move more movies to Premier Access, I don’t have a clue. However, to the weirdos who are acting like it’s a megaflop over a goddamn “Trending” section, you have no idea how good it’s doing either. You can still go on about how theaters are doing a-okay and act like the world’s against Nolan or whatever, but know you are just as blind as everyone else when it comes to this movie
