GODDAMMIT! My mom and I were all set to see Bond later tonight, but she decided to change it to Peter Rabbit at the last minute. I tell her I'm a furry one time, and she keeps forcing me to see these movies so she could "get to know me better". Whatever. Let's just hope the multiplication scene is just as wild as the critics hyped it up to be. -

Hey guys. I know that being stuck in quarantine is not very fun, but @grim22 thinks it would be a fun distraction to make our own mock weekend thread. We'll be in charge of the numbers, so you guys can't make that stuff up. But you guys can react to what happens, make your own stories, etc. It's just a nice little thing to do while we're all stuck home alone. With that out of the way, let's begin! BOND JAMES BOND TROLLS DREAMWORKS TROLLS Happy Easter everybody! I'm sure you guys have heard about this wild viral trend that's sweeping the nation, but that's not going to stop us from talking about the box office. For whatever reason, people have been really excited about the box office for the past couple weeks. A Quiet Place 2 opened to about 60M, while Mulan opened to 75M, and New Mutants inexplicably got to 175M. So the pressure is really on for these movies. Everybody's excited to see what good ol' Mr. Bond will be up to, and how Princess Poppy and Branch save the music world, and we're excited we get another fun-filled weekend at the box office. Along with Peter Rabbit expected to open to boffo business, this is going to be one Easter we'll never forget. Thank you President Trump for still keeping movie theaters alive! But again, you guys still need to follow the rules 1. NO SPOILERS. This applies to all movies currently in theaters. No Time to Die and Trolls World Tour are the most anticipated movies of the year, and it's not cool to reveal that Rami Malek dabs on the haters or that Tiny Diamond outs himself as a white supremacist. Don't be a dick. 2. NO AGENDAS. We get it. The Earth is flat, Papa Feige is destroying cinema, and bowties are cool. There's a time and place for this stuff, but it's not here. Anybody who does this kind of stuff will be banned. Don't be a dick. 3. NO POLITICS. Peter Rabbit 2 has been a massive political talking point, ever since James Corden announced he was pro-Brexit. And honestly, politics just aren't cool to talk about. We have other threads for you to go to for that stuff. Don't be a dick. 4. IS OFF-TOPIC DISCUSSION ALLOWED? Well...yes and no. Stick to the box office as best as you can, but in certain dead periods, you can talk about whatever, so long as it's not too controversial. Don't. Be. A. Dick. 5. DON'T BE A DICK. Yeah, you know what I'm gonna say And now... WITHOUT FURTHER ADO LET'S DO THIS SHIT

Is it weird to anybody else that HBO Max is supposedly coming out next month, and we still have no specific release date?

Netflix viewership is wonky and confusing, but about 17.1M people watched it in the first 5 days. In terms of 2019 as a whole, it was #5 for the year, only behind Murder Mystery, Stranger Things 3, 6 Underground, and Incredibles 2. Sounds pretty successful, since I don't think Roma ever really charted that much, though that's obviously a tougher sell.

So between Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, who do you think will win Best Actor next year?

Dan mentioned on Twitter he's planning to set up his own YT channel and Patreon in the future, so it's not dead yet. But alas, I guess I'm hate-watching G**** R******* for a little while longer

Bankruptcy ‘increasingly likely’ for AMC theaters
Eric the Clown replied to lilmac's topic in Box Office Discussion
It should be mentioned that AMC can continue operating when under Chapter 11. However, that's still not a great sign, and things could get worse, if theaters are shut down longer. Cineworld (which owns Regal) have also mentioned they've been struggling too. -

My parents wanted to watch it, so I ended up seeing the whole thing. It was cute I guess, though it probably should have ended about 6 years earlier

Well...it’s not still going in a bit

So TIL Modern Family's last episode is...in about 30 minutes. Honestly not sure if I'll miss much.
