  1. I decided I'm not gonna do the 2009 list. It's really cutting things close, and I'm very busy for the next couple months. If somebody else wants to do it, have at it. However, I do wanna do the Top 25 (or 30, I'm still deciding) for 2010. I think Summer 2020 would work best, and I'll think about specific dates and stuff later
  2. Watching the D23 GMA coverage, I just learned one of the actresses in the movie is deaf. Was this reported on before? Because this was pretty cool news to me.
  3. This is coming from somebody who is not a horror guru (haven't even seen the first IT lol), but I feel like the buzz for It 2 doesn't feel as strong or in-your-face as it was for the first movie. At the same point in time, it felt like It 1 was everywhere and everyone was talking about it. But now, it's just kind of another blockbuster. Kind of like Secret Life of Pets where the first movie's buzz was astonishing, but the sequel was much less. That's not me saying it will drop as bad as Pets. People actually still care and are interested in IT, so Chapter 2 definitely won't open to less than half of the first movie, but...I dunno, marketing just doesn't make the movie feel like a real must-see like the first movie was. But again, I'm not in the horror/King/IT fandom, so what do I know? Would love to be proven wrong. And to quote the laughing guy from that Rise of the Planet of the Skywalkers trailer, "Something Something Something Mickey's Law. Something Something Something Complete."

  5. I don't know how Searchlight and its marketing/awards team works in a post-merger environment, and I'm probably complaining over nothing, but I'm still concerned over Disney handling Jojo Rabbit (and I guess Hidden Life too). You've already got an executive piss-scared over the movie's anti-Nazi message. Can't imagine how they would market and distribute something that isn't intended to sell dolls, princess costumes and Happy Meals to Academy members and arthouse theaters.

  7. Peanut Butter Falcon was good. Got a couple annoying Sundance-y quirks to it, but its got some good charm and actors to pull it through.
  8. Makes sense. This thread actually has interesting things to talk about.
  9. No worldwide trends on Twitter yet, but here in the States, TROS (w/ Black Panther 2), Emma Stone (w/ Cruella), Palpatine, Gemma Chan (w/ The Eternals, Eternals, Black Knight), Frozen 2, and Raya are all trending as of right now, although things might change later. Guess we know which ones got people talking.
  10. And that's it guys. The presentation is all done
