I’m almost sick of this movie by now, and that’s because it seems to have become tik tok’s new crusade, about how Disney is deliberately trying to keep people from seeing the movie. I just hate those types of arguments lol, and I think the movie looks good!

It just occurred to me that the November record is going down this weekend. Nice to see, although Catching Fire will probably end up with more admissions for OW when all is said and done. God, that franchise was a beast in the early 2010s lol.

Had to have it in the winter this year due to where it’s taking place.

Excited to see if Fabelmans can pull off a 50+k PTA. Wakanda Forever is certainly looking like it's having a bigger true Friday than MoM pretty much everywhere I look (and in the locations where MoM was ahead, it's still pretty much a statistical tie). Makes sense given Veterans' Day holiday. WOM seems pretty good too, I'd be surprised if the weekend estimate came in at anything less than 180M.

Just looking at monster openings like WF this weekend, makes me think about just how insane it was that we literally had a movie open to 350 FREAKING MILLION DOLLARS. Like, let that sink in. I know it's common knowledge at this point, but sometimes it just hits me that something managed to open that big.

At least in the markets I'm looking at (Canadian), WF can certainly surpass 80% of MoM's Thursday box office with these walk-ups (29M equivalent). Heck, if these numbers translate across the board, I wouldn't be shocked if this comes close to 30M on Thursday. And this is in CANADA, where the first BP wasn't nearly as big as it was in the States! Caveat, Remembrance Day may be causing Thursday to behave slightly more like a Friday night than usual, something which MoM didn't have. Still, really impressive numbers so far.

I mean, EC is right in that tweet. Walk-ups are much much stronger for this tonight than either of 2022’s MCU entries.

Starting to get the feeling that this'll wind up around 375 OS. Still, with a 500M+ domestic total, that's still a pretty healthy gross.

This is going to increase again from Part 3 I think. Not as much as 3 increased from 2, but it'll have a great OW at least. 70/180

I think there’s a difference between Tar and Till not doing well however. Tár, from what I’ve heard from people I know irl at least, is not very audience friendly outside of the “20-something film Twitter Letterboxd hipsters” and I can totally understand why it would tank in wide release. Till on the other hand, while very difficult to watch, is extremely audience-friendly. It’s not too “artsy”, it’s straightforward, gut-wrenching etc. This is the one that really baffles me, maybe there was just a complete and utter lack of promotion for it (I myself would have never heard of it if it hadn’t been for these boards).

She may get a nom, but I would be shocked if the movie got any more. I don’t think she has the momentum for a win however. It would be one of those “5th place nominations” type deal.

Just watched Till in an empty theatre. Great movie, probably not going to win any Oscars or do super well at the box office, but it’s one of the best movies I’ve seen all year and more people should really watch it.

For what it's worth, at every location near me that's playing Terrifier 2, it's only getting 1 showtime per day. Now, that showtime is around 8PM, which is probably the only time it would make any money anyways, but something to think about.
