  1. I'm probably reaching here but could it be because China's cinemas are busy again in comparison to Western markets? e.g. if Disney wanted to release one of the MCU movies in July, and let it be slightly impacted by Covid (potentially), then makes more sense for it to be the one that appeals to China. Next July, China will 100% definitely be safe. So even if other markets are a bit dampened it won't affect China.
  2. Were - not are. Have any of the theater chains spoken about this since theaters started reopening? I am skeptical that they would maintain the normal attitude of the theatrical window, in the current times. They should be begging Disney. BEGGING! Disney to release their DisneyPlus movies in the theater simultaneously.
  3. When you say sadface - are you actually surprised? I think literally everyone knew this was going to happen ever since Tenet launched.
  4. Not necessarily. I don't see why it can't get a simultaneous theatrical + streaming release... ? (Which I wish they had done for Mulan)
  5. Bummer 😕 not sure why though... do they actually think 2 months is going to make a difference to cinema attendance? https://variety.com/2020/film/news/black-widow-west-side-story-eternals-release-date-delay-1234773491/ “Death on the Nile” — a follow-up to 2017’s box office hit “Murder on the Orient Express” — will bow on Dec. 18, 2020, vacating its original Oct. 23 premiere.
  6. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierce_Brosnan#Filmography Have a look and see how few films he was in before Goldeneye. Half of them were TV films, too.
  7. Captain Sir Tom Moore story to be made into movie https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-54262116 Lol, yeah I think they might be "busy", Captain.
  8. If I recall correctly, Liam Neeson was offered James Bond (but turned it down - obvs), that would have been a big name. Also, given how long it now goes between different Bonds, I don't think it's useful to assume that decision making during X Bond period will be the same today. 18 years between the last Brosnan movie and the last Craig movie. The decisions made before aren't necessarily gonna be the decisions made now.
  9. I've just watched this. There's mentions about characters parents and grandparents. All I could think about during the film's runtime was, How the hell do the cars have sex and reproduce? Also the whole "We don't care about racing, we just want to sell merchandise" thing was done in really poor taste. You could get away with it in Toy Story but this film serves literally no purpose other than to sell branded crap.
  10. I watched this again for the first time as an adult. I watched it a hundred times when I was younger and I always remembered it as being a really smart comedy. In reality, it's a lot of funny jokes but nothing more than that. Feels like a regular TV episode to be honest.
  11. Henry Cavill would be a really good Bond, imo. Would need to slim down a bit because at the moment he looks as much of a spy as Douglas Quaid. But I thought he was fab in Man From Uncle and Mission Impossible. He would be good but it would be incredibly unlikely, particularly if the rumours about him renewing his Superman contract are true. I don't really see Tom Hardy as Bond, nor Idris Elba. Both are too old anyway. Richard Madden would be good.
  12. That's actually a fair point. Disney+ doesn't waste your time. I have watched a few things on it that I knew I wanted to watch. Like in the early summer when the Mandalorian finally had released its finale, I bought a month of Disney+, I watched The Mandalorian, watched Clone Wars final season, and I rewatched all the Star Wars films. I was happy with that, I'd used the service for what I wanted to, and so then I unsubscribed. For £6 I got good value. I guess when I think about how much money I've paid to Netflix, and how much time I've spent actually watching netflix compared to browsing Netflix, D+ was probably the better value for money. But I just don't get it as a continuous streaming service. But that's just me. Incidentally, I've just added it all up and since I signed up in 2013 to Netflix, I must have paid approx £756. Not sure it's been worth it.
  13. but I mean its only for old films. And specifically only for those franchises. Disney also has a TON of films that aren't on there. It looks like it has all the x men films, I might watch those actually to be fair. The idea of paying a subscription exclusively to rewatch films you've seen multiple times - it just seems a bit contrary to the ethos of subscription models, IMO. Although that being said I know there are dedicated subscription services for classic/old films etc. If you have kids who want to rewatch the same four animated films over and over then I'd think its cheaper to buy the DVDs. Disney Plus is what, $100/year? Just a bit strange that it seems to be such poor value for money compared to the rival services which have far more content.
  14. Why is this being marketed as the first theatrical feature film, when it is the third? Paw Patrol Mighty Pups last year and Paw Patrol Ready Race Rescue this year.
  15. I got Disney Plus yesterday as I wanted to watch one of the marvel films. This service is garbage. How does it have 60 million subscribers?! There's literally no content. It splits into four sections "Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars". Like you go into the Star Wars section and you scroll for 2 seconds and it's reached the Making-Of featurettes. It's embarrassing. Also do other people find that it stutters a lot? The video and audio stutter frequently. Really great way of breaking your immersion when you're trying to watch a movie. None of the other streaming service apps on my TV do this.
  16. What do you mean "doesn't hint"? It has multiple realities. They don't technically use time travel in Endgame, rather, they have the ability to go to any point in time in a parallel universe.
  17. just rewatched this on disney plus. It's still the best of the MCU movies. Such a genuinely delightful film.
  18. Thank you for all the work you've done for this wonderful community, Andy. See you around.
  19. I didn't say everyone was confused, I said a lot of people were. I did not understand Tenet. Same as lots of other people on this forum. Don't fucking call me an idiot mate. "Don't go see films that challenge you and make you think". You don't think I was trying to understand it? Piss off mate and learn to not be so patronising to others, it might get you somewhere in life.
  20. OK, maybe not "ignorant", but arrogant for sure. You are not the most important person in the world, it's not like your opinion = Truth, and anyone else must be just wrong. LOTS of people were fully attentive and did NOT understand the film. Stop being an arse.
  21. Apple TV+ is bad. It has like 6 items on it to watch. Way too many streaming services. If you want to have complete access to all TV shows now, I'm pretty sure you'll be spending more on subscriptions than on cable.
