  1. I'm home now, first thing I did when the film finished was order the book on Amazon. I haven't read a book in 2 years but I now really want to.
  2. I just watched this movie. Now THAT is how you make a blockbuster. So much fun, people are gonna love it.
  3. Yep, all the trailers I've seen in the cinema have said March 2015. Same for PAN with it being a "summer" movie.
  4. The Verge: "Astonishing" Very positive review by A.O. Scott Scott Mendelson has mixed views on the buildup in the movie, but the climax is "exhilarating"
  5. Five stars from Robbie Collin: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/film/the-walk/review/ Several comparisons to FURY ROAD. Apparently the 3D is excellent and genuinely innovative. I like Collin a lot so I may see it in 3D.
  6. Producers have already said that they will keep making them if they make money, and don't have any plans to end the story. They said they want at least 5 more movies, so... strap in.
  7. You said "semi-comedic". UNCLE is most definitely an action comedy. Go on any movie website, hell even look on Wikipedia, it is categorised by being action and comedy. And Ricki and the Flash is an out and out comedy-drama too. Anyway I don't disagree with what you're saying, there hasn't been a movie like this for a good few weeks.
  8. It was only released in like 5 cinemas in the country, but fortunately one of those was the cinema I work at. It's really brilliant. Not sure how big its expansion will be or when.
  9. BKB you are not the first to say CONTACT is better than INTERSTELLAR... we all know it is the superior movie
  10. I completely agree, there is a difference between fame and draw power. Gyllenhaal is a very widely known actor and we'll respected by the GA, but he isn't a box office draw.
  11. I felt very nostalgic when I saw the awesome RAIDERS in the cinema on 70mm... even though it is nearly twice as old as me.
  12. Btw if there is a showing of 99 HOMES near anyone on this board... you should absolutely go and see it. I know it's only in a couple of cinemas in the whole country (same situation over here) but if you get the chance, you should see it, as it's fantastic.
  13. If the brand was genuinely strong then it would open significantly higher than the last one. The fact they are opening very similarly, despite one being unknown to audiences and the other being known, suggests to me that it's mostly just that there is a big budget wide release family film, rather than a specific brand. The past couple weekends have been pretty interesting, imo. Several ~20+ openers that will turn into successful hits. We've got a major animation, a disaster movie, a young adult film, several dramas, and all have been successful. Nice for there to be some actual competition.
  14. stupid plot... no real characters... silly music... not enough foghorns and organs TBH.
