  1. Minions is better than both those movies, but hey, it has no chance to beat Frozen and unlikely to beat TS3.
  2. If nothing else he can write and sell scripts. He's not going to be a bum any time soon.
  3. I'm sure he will find work, even if it is with a very small distributor/studio, regardless of the rumours surrounding his capability of running a large production. To the best of my knowledge he didn't have problems filming CHRONICLE. If he's on a smaller movie and he has more creative control then maybe he will be fine again, and a studio will risk it in order to make a hit movie.
  4. I'm back from work and wtf is with fantastic four. I checked a showing 15 mins before it finished and they were just meeting the villain. 25 mins before end they were discovering their powers...
  5. make a sequel where kirsten dunst is all grown up and pining over peter parker so uses the Jumanji board to unleash villains for spiderman to fight and overcome his inner broodingness
  6. Bad as it may be, I'm so intrigued by FANTASTIC FOUR that I'll be watching it on Monday. My programme for the day shall be: FANTASTIC FOUR - 12:40pm THE GIFT - 15:00pm SOUTHPAW - 17:40pm
  7. I completely agree, 100M would be great for The Martian. However I do think it has the scope for much higher targets if everything goes very well.
  8. hype for an original movie several months before release happens, like, never.
  9. Lets look at the facts here. Ridley Scott has the ability to make movies that large audiences enjoy. No not every one of them is a hit, but he has had three movies that adjusted grossed over 200M. He certainly has the potential to make massive hits - and I personally believe that The Martian could be the next one. People comparing this to Exodus is ridiculous, it was obvious from the outset that Exodus was going to bomb.
  10. This. If it's enjoyable for audiences then they may connect much stronger with it than Interstellar, which had mixed reactions to say the very least. I think it has a broader appeal.
  11. Interstellar didn't have franchise hype yet opened strong and held its own against everything else to almost 200M. It's hardly impossible for Martian to do the same.
  12. Cinderella, Spectre, The Good Dinosaur, potentially The Martian. Some people here think Peanuts will do over 200.
  13. is it a horror or a thriller? It looked like a horror movie and I hate horror, so I wasn't going to watch it - but all these positive reviews are good.
  14. you realise there's a difference between a trailer rating and a movie rating, right? Like, all (or almost all) R-rated movies get a PG-13 trailer. Ah, I didn't know that. Is this a new trailer then? For some reason I thought you had been talking about the original one. I think I'm going crazy.
  15. Around 32M this weekend is my prediction (if Gophers number is accurate). Theoretically it could be #2 behind MI. We know what went wrong so no need.
