Anyone who thinks this will get trashed does not know anything about hollywood/critics. Critics, most of the time, give a pass to anything directed by their favorite director. In the current climate we are living in, supporting a woman for her big tent-pole project is very important in order to pave the way for women to get bigger projects in hollywood. In this case, it's a bigger deal as here is an African american woman trying to get in the big league film making with the backing of Disney. It also helps that she is well liked within film community and critics. Not to mention the star cast of this film is primarily African american. Lots of things worth rooting for and supporting even if the movie isn't good. It happens...sometimes one has to give fake praise for greater cause.

The best superhero movie costume till date is Deadpool. Extremely faithful to the comics. This looks to be the next best costume.

But it has more time to deliver something solid unlike fant4stic.

Folks like you said the same thing for Kingsman 2 while I said it will do less than previous one. End result is there for everyone to see. As for this, I dug Murder on the orient express, but it did well because it had been a long time since we got a movie based on a popular Agatha Christie novel. The star cast was great and the marketing good. Next one will have to be a much better movie and have a more interesting star cast along with better marketing to do as well as Murder if not more. The competition surrounding it will also be a factor. If a giant movie is releasing around it which sucks all the hype and buzz leaving hardly any room for another breakout then it's going to do less. Ex: IT2 Vs Kings 2 in September. For now, I can see 280-300M world wide. That could change depending on the trailer.
