  1. I went to see it with my mom. Everyone seemed to enjoy it but as long as the movie preaches to the choir they're fine. Some of the dialogue was cringeworthy and the jokes were terrible but everyone still clapped and laughed. Plus the move ends with a jump rope competition. Felt like it became a completely different movie. The gun scene literally had me rolling my eyes. I mean any Christian can tell you it doesn't work like that.
  2. Didn't realize he did A Man Apart, although I've never seen it.
  3. As a fan of Compton, Italian Job. and Friday, (I even find The Negotiator and Law Abiding Citizen to be alright) I would be fine with Gray. Plus it will be a reunion with Statham from Italian Job and Johnson from Be Cool.
  4. Is it required that every IMAX exclusive release tv spot mention Gravity ? First Everest mentions how a movie hasn't needed to be seen in IMAX like it since Gravity and now The Walk mentions it will do what Gravity did for space.
  5. Agreed. Way better than Minority Report. Nice to see that Cooper's involvement and it helps the connection with the movie. Something Minority Report won't have since I doubt Cruise is showing up anytime soon. However it was nice to see the Caretaker.
  6. Guess this is what Diesel means when he says it's from Paul. Considering how the series gets more and more over the top I wonder how people will react with the series toning that down some. Hopefully they can find a middle ground. http://www.people.com/article/michelle-rodriguez-paul-walker-furious-8
  7. So The Perfect Guy seems to be doing double what I predicted it would do this weekend and The Visit is slightly above my expectations. Guess Screen Gems will have another one of these lined up the same weekend next year. Who would have thought this would be the weekend where the box office picked back up.
  8. Something I never got to experience since a friend spoiled it before I saw it. Now it's so embedded in pop culture that I doubt that many people who haven't seen it don't at least know the twist.
  9. Shorter than I expected. I figured it would be around 150 minutes at least.
  10. R.I.P. Wes Craven. One of horror's finest. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/wes-craven-horror-maestro-dies-818806
  11. My local drive in is having a triple feature next weekend with Furious 7, Jurassic World, and Minions.
  12. The eight screen theatre near me isn't showing We Are Your Friends or War Room but it did bring back Jurassic World. Not sure if I want to see it for the third time or American Ultra this weekend. Will probably be the last time I'm at the movies till Scorch Trials and Black Mass.
  13. I think critics are being too hard on Sinister 2. While it is nowhere near a masterpiece it still wasn't a 13% on RT movie. If I hadn't already knew the score I would have expected something in the 30s-40s. It met my expectations (which were low) and I enjoyed the deputy's expanded role.
  14. Forbes Summer Box Office Recap: http://www.forbes.com/sites/scottmendelson/2015/08/18/summer-2015-box-office-wrap-up-avengers-sized-hits-but-fantastic-four-sized-bombs/?utm_campaign=yahootix&partner=yahootix Agree 100% on the "Superhero Fatigue" we've seen this summer. Also confirms what we all knew already that Summer 2015 was the summer of Disney and Universal.
  15. Oculus was pretty good. Ouija not so much. Hoping that the sequel is an improvement but I doubt it will be.
  16. To me it's pacing is really good and it's one of the only movies that doesn't feel as long as it really is.
  17. I enjoy all of his films but if I had to pick my least favorite it would be Jackie Brown. Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs are definitely the best.
  18. Halloween, 2, and H20 make a good trilogy and 3 was a good standalone movie. The rest are what-if movies to me.
