As someone saw in this forum, HG movies follow the trajectory of books: good-very good-not so good. In other hands, if the main reason that prompted katniss to take action is to save her sister from certain death, That could have disappointed some happy-ending lovers. (like me)

More the next Tangled than the next Frozen. The Arendelle phenomenon continues to stay strong at every level and will be very hard to replace it in the heart of little girls (and also in much of those not just little girls). More, I think that if Frozen 2 will be released in 2017, for Moana will be a disaster, cause the great anticipation generated. Moana would need a great story and another Let It Go (or maybe a sister like Elsa ....)

Hunger games MJ2 opens at 0,6M€, well below MJ1 that opens at 0,84M€. The movie is very disappointing.

As "The Martian" passes 200M$ domestically, in USA+Canada market there are 7 movies that have reached this milestone in 2015 vs 6 in Chinese market. In 2014 the result was 13-1. I think USA+Canada could be at 10 at the end of the year (adding Star Wars, Hunger Games and The Good Dinosaur). What about China? How many movies will be over 200M?

This chart is totally incorrect. It is based on a site, hitparadeitalia.it, that isn't updated since 2011 and the numbers are only for the first movie of each year. For example in season 1966-67 the first movie is "Il Dottor Zivago", the 2nd is "Il Buono, il Brutto e il Cattivo" but the site don't reports its gross. This movie (The Good, The Bad and The Ugly) is the highest grossing by the director Sergio Leone, and certainly has grossed more than "Per qualche dollaro in più" that the chart put on 10th place. Other, more important, the adjustment is out of date: "Il Dottor Zivago" is reported at 6B lire and the multiplier 1967-2015 is about 19500, so the adjusted gross could be 60,4Meuro instead of 51,80Meuro. Pre-release buzz influences opening weekend: more important for sequels, it also depends by the strenght of marketing. WOM influences the rest of the run: is very important for originals, especially when it is followed by the "self-promotion" on social media (as happened for the Frozen soundtrack on YouTube) TGD could have a similar prelease buzz of IO but I think it won't have the same WOM. I Predict 300+400=700

IO on Monday passes Finding Nemo: is now the highest grossing Disney/Pixar movie ever in local currency (cause the weak ER is still behind FN and Frozen in $). Could finish at #2 or #3 animated ever (1-Ice Age 3 29,7 Meuro 2- Madagascar 2 25,1Meuro)

Calm down. Nobody "bad mouth other animated films" in general. I and many others "bad mouth" Minions because it is a very silly and boring movie, but if we speak about Inside Out, for example, I can say that it is a masterpiece and maybe, excluding the soundtrack, better than Frozen.
