  1. Which was really missing from the Andrew Garfield films. I remember ASM being overshadowed by Avengers and TDKR(no shame in that). But then Spidey got overshadowed again in 2014. Best hype since probably Spidey 3 in 2007.
  2. I agree with the criticism about the MCU films having this grey look to them. I don't remember phase 1 having this problem. I was actually watching the first Thor film the other day and to me it's the best looking one of the trilogy. I can't pinpoint when this grey haze took over but it was sometime after the first Avengers film.
  3. I would def give the Andrew Garfield Spidey films a watch. While they are my least favorite Spider-Man films, they do have some good things in them IMO. The first ASM film is decent. It just got overshadowed by The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises that year. The 2nd ASM is bad but it's a pretty film to look at. You can tell the budget was pretty high with that one.
  4. Black Widow was ok. I gave it a 7 but my biggest problem was the timing of the film. It should've came out years ago.
  5. This is true and BP also had crazy social media hype like a year or 2 before it came out or had any footage released. I remember seeing the #blackpanthersolit hashtag trending several times on twitter and other social media platforms. There seemed to be a big general audience awareness and anticipation for BP that I've never seen for Shang-Chi, even before the pandemic.
  6. This is my most anticipated Disney+ show. Can't wait
  7. I give it a 6/10. I thought I would like it more on top of the good reviews but I came away underwhelmed sadly. The first Guardians is still Gunn's best cbm to date, in my opinion.
  8. I am appreciating Black Widow's opening of 80 million more and more. And to think some thought 80 million wasn't impressive.
  9. The most interesting thing I've observed about the JK Rowling situation is I have seen people from both sides of the political parties(at least here in the US) agree with her takes. I think certain places online and in real life like Hollywood are anti JK but idk, I've seen a lot of support for her too. Even some of my Uber Liberal/moderate friends agree with her. The majority of Americans are not on twitter which I think tends to skew a certain narrative about how the whole country feels and thinks.
  10. The Edward Twilight book from his POV sold 1 million copies in the US during it's opening week last year. I always see viral tweets and memes about this franchise still. Twilight seems to still be very popular. From my observation the fanbase for it is still going strong because they seem to have grown up and don't care about being mocked for loving the books/films anymore. I believe the author for the books said she is working on a sequel. I think that book will sell very well too. I don't see a reboot nor a sequel but if they ever did one I think it could possibly do very well also. Especially on a tv format like Netflix.
  11. Just finished it. A solid 7. Just a bit more tightening up on the plot was needed but other than that I enjoyed it.
  12. Pre covid this is making Avengers 1 money. Tobey coming back is a HUGE deal...bigger than Andrew coming back IMO. Lots of nostalgia attached there. My friend OS told me in many markets Raimi films were the first time they were exposed to big superhero film spectacles. I may be wrong but Spider-Man 3 might still hold the record for the biggest opening for a superhero film ever in France(I think). I don't even think Endgame could topple it even though it came close. ...i think
  13. This has a lot of buzz around me. Even my coworkers have been talking about this non stop.
