  1. People are really excited for this on twitter and Ryan's announcement video has over 8 million views already with 449k likes and 109k RTs. Good engagement
  2. Great episode 4. I'm loving the direction the plot is going. I was very sure of some things last episode and with each passing episode my prediction seems to be true.
  3. I'm enjoying this season so far. Galadriel & Halbrand having some good chemistry took me by surprise. Anyway Halbrand is sus af and if he is who I think he is then I actually like this little twist, especially for the more casual crowd.
  4. If this is true then this is really sad. What happened to WB? They have made/continue to make some of the best movies in the industry. I can't see them NOT existing.
  5. I can't believe it's been 20 years. This is the cbm that got a lot of people into superheroes OS. A lot of my friends in Europe loved this film. For me, I have the same feeling. This, not X-Men, got me into the superhero craze for good. I was 11 when this came out & I remember it being such a huge hit with casuals & becoming a pop culture phenomenon. It definitely still holds up well despite some discourse in recent years about it's quality. Yes I agree, a Spider-Man 4 would most likely be a huge hit.
  6. What happened to Sony's Spider-Man posters? lmao. They used to be so good. The 2001 teaser poster and the 2002 official poster will always be my favorite Spider-Man posters.
  7. So this will possibly hold 2 Opening weekend records February and November...wow. I forgot the February ow has yet to get broken
  8. I def think the November record will fall with this. Still not sure about a 200m OW but I didn't think the first BP film would crack 200m ow & look what happened. But that was definitely a different time. I think the unique thing about the BP films are they attract demographics that don't usually watch these Marvel films.
  9. Wow the teaser poster got 1 million likes on twitter and the trailer on twitter should be hitting 1 million likes also. That's the most I've ever seen an MCU teaser poster/trailer get. The closest thing I can remember was Dr. Stranger's MOM teaser poster getting 300k+ likes.
  10. Well Thor made a big comeback at my theater. I was looking at sales earlier in the week and it was looking so-so but today it just exploded. The walk-ups really rounded everything out. Curious to see how Saturday performs at my theater now. I say Saturday because that is usually the biggest day at my theater. Things have also been looking up & up at my theater since the release of No Way Home.
  11. This lines up with what I've seen everytime an MCU film is released. I first noticed it with Black Panther. The people I saw watching that film were not the typical MCU crowd at the time. Which is why I believe the film did great with the general audience. Then when I checked out MoM audience on Thursday, no one seemed to be over the age of 40, split between men & women with a large Latino, Asian & African American crowd. Granted I live in a diverse city but some movies released here never attract a diverse crowd like that.
  12. Kinda crazy Marvel sued Disney over the Incredibles back in '04 only to get brought by them 5 years later.
  13. That is just insane. Also, question, what do you think Endgame would do with true Midnights instead of Thursday previews? I always think about DH part 2 amazing midnight numbers. Opening weekend records are always broken but I think the record Endgame will hold for years and years to come is the wide release per theater average. It beat Return of the Jedi PTA for a wide release which held the record for 30+ years!!!
  14. Got it. But Tobey's trilogy was extremely popular in Japan right?, more than 99% of cbm's since then. I would've thought that Tobey coming back would've atleast had it doing much better than your average MCU/DC flick. But oh well,. I guess.
  15. Yeah I'm wondering the same thing because NWH run in Japan was lower than expected too. Did they also have restrictions?
  16. I think he did but like I said it depends on the movie here. Avatar 2 might be the exception here as it was in 2009. People aren't in a rush to see Marvel films in 3D and most films. It was a quick fad. But who knows, after Avatar 2, the trend might pick up again.
  17. Can't speak for other countries but here in America it's just seen as a gimmick that doesn't really enhance your theater experience. People have soured on it since 2009/2010. I do think it depends on the film though. 3D sales aren't really big either at the theater I'm tracking right now for Multiverse of Madness, even though it has the most 3D showtimes we've seen in years. Everyone is in on Dolby and IMAX here. I'm really curious how Avatar 2 will do in 3D sales. That is one of the only films I can say that used the 3D tech properly.
  18. Honestly I would be surprised if they do because Disney, like all of the studios in Hollywood, care about the money. It's too big of a market. It would be epic though to withhold a movie they are really anticipating over there...like Avatar 2. But they won't do it & don't have the balls to do it either. I appreciate people like Quentin Tarantino who did not cave to the Chinese government & edit their art.
  19. I remember when I went to go see The Wolf of Wallstreet with my friend, we sat next to an elderly couple and by the very first 3 minutes of the movie, the wife was ready to go & they started arguing lol. She eventually walked out after the gay orgy scene from Jordan's maid & her husband said, fine but I'm staying lol. I wonder if she waited in the car or left her husband entirely at the theater and went home.
