well, then it maybe because of it's summer time!! and given so much awful movie released recently, and all of them scored bad in RT, people just give up their patience for waiting a good movie to come, they just walk in and watch whatever it shows.....

perhaps is due to the weaker than expected performance from transformer 5, and no other major film is opening this week, meaning much more bigger space than expected for holdovers.

while WW's friday come in weaker than initial estimate, but still a great number and way beyond my expectation

To be honest, I only first watched titanic in 2012(for 3D-release), I was too young to saw it in cinema in 1997. I saw it only 4 times in theater, all in 3D, and I kept begging my classmate and friend to watch it with me in cinema, in the 3rd viewing, I've managed to summon 30+ of my classmate to see "old" film in 3D, that was my biggest achievement in my high-school life(sound pathetic)!!! Titanic was so epic and addictive, I couldn't judge it with my rationality! I know it's flawed in some way, but my love to titanic was too strong for my brain to admit that

I remember when 3D-release in 2012, the theater that I was in, people that came out still in tear for what'd just saw, Titanic was so beloved among GA. I understand the reason of all the haters, because Titanic was so successful that no-one would easily replicate or by hard, it is movie of generation and instant classic, not much film achieved that fate ever since BTW, I've also running out of my likes

In fact I'm quite surprised that GOTG2 didn't get collapsed after WW's phenomenal run, not like CAP 3 VS Apocalypse last year

The June number is so awful, not even Pixar brand could make a splash in the market, all these pave the way for WW to be perfect storm

Titanic, gave me the best impressive movie experience of all time, it's not the best movie of all time, but gave me so much emotional impact....I cried non-stop in that movie, and that kind of melancholy was so brutal.....

I thought James Bond movie were doing quite decent in USA? Spectre pass $200m and Skyfall pass $300m, even casino royale made $168m 10 years ago

I think people need to get rid of those "save by overseas", it's true international market is much bigger place especially china, but please bear in mind, POTC5, transformer 5, aliens or the mummy, through doing poor now domestically, all these franchise were initially doing very good here in USA, the overseas market only then followed up in the sequel. Meaning, to get your film be successful in at least a decade, you still need to get "approval" from USA audience, the market still the biggest in the world, and have a huge post-cinema lifespan. To me, film doing good in USA tends to have better overseas, USA's number has huge indirect influence in OS market and OS market react correspondingly.As example for GO, I dont think Get out could make $80m overseas if wasn't doing that huge in USA.

I couldn't imaging how severe will it be wiped out of DM3.....

2 movies about cars have such a close gap in their release date, and aims to similar demo, no wonder both fells short
