  1. For any other week-end that would be true, but not for holidays. BoxOfficeMojo also says not to expect actuals until Jan. 4th ( http://www.boxofficemojo.com/news/?id=4137&p=.htm )
  2. None of the numbers from December 24th and onward are actuals right now. Because of holidays.
  3. http://www.screendaily.com/box-office/force-awakens-hits-1bn-global/5098402.article?blocktitle=LATEST-FILM-NEWS&contentID=40562 Apparently.
  4. $133,3M? Isn't that a huge drop internationally? Christmas must mean closed theaters pretty much all around the world!
  5. Indeed, $58-59 M is still the 5th best Saturday gross in history (http://www.boxofficemojo.com/alltime/days/f-th.htm?page=Sat&p=.htm) In fact, if 58-59 M holds up, SW7's gonna have 2 of the 5 biggest Saturday grosses ever. Ironically enough, I still can't understand why Iron Man 3's saturday number was 6M above Age of Ultron...?
  6. pls my aunt is dying, only a 60+ number can save her
  7. For real, I have no idea what happened? Are these good numbers or bad? I don't get it
  8. Btw, once star wars 7 finishes its run, it's looking at having 41 records on boxofficemojo, and that's without any foreign ones, and christmas eve which isn't considered a record either. Jurassic world loses all but 4, and avatar is looking at conceding 3-4 most likely 4 Edit: 5 if worldwide goes to SW7 Dayum!
  9. Well boys, we're getting better drops than Avatar now. (Am I actually saying this?) I'll see myself out for a crazy day tomorrow.
  10. ~ Patiently waiting them numbers Following box office has never been so exciting!
  11. 178 Million second week-end, who would have thought... bwahahaha, this is so absurd!
  12. In only 6 days, Force Awakens has already grossed more worldwide than X-Men: Days of Future Past, which I loved btw but ... this is insane!
  13. So the international drop between Tuesday and Wednesday was -7.55% (41.3M / 38.4M) source: https://twitter.com/giteshpandya From Monday to Tuesday it was -1%. Still, pretty good holds, but I don't think these are Avatar-level holds for the Foreign box office! Really hard to compare though, we don't have such numbers available for Avatar. edit: It's opening in Greece today (Dec 24), so expect a softer drop. Cyprus, India and Pakistan open on December 25
  14. And pull in a ~380 Mil opening week as well, which is... more than Return of the King's whole theatrical run! edit: and to stay in Hunger Games territory, a lot more than MJ1's whole theatrical run.
  15. Thanks! I will... I have to make sure that no Superhero movie beats it, and I have to be there when Ep.8 smashes the opening week-end record (but not total domestic run!)
  16. I have to say, how I have NEVER stumbled onto this forum before is pure enigma to me. I came here from reddit, and this forum looks awesome! Anyway, holy crap! This is a completely unreal hold. I'm the guy who said 230 M opening week-end was an audacious number, and I expected it to be below that. Now, what's happening right now exactly? I just... what the... is this even real? I've been following box office for years now, and I've never seen anything like this. So exciting, I can barely do anything meaningful during the day! Sure, I work... but yeah, mind's not on it. I hadn't even planned on seeing the movie more than once, but that's it now, I have to go back a 3rd time. Maybe even 4th. Be a part of history Whatever, pleased to meet y'all, greetings from Canada, and I'll be sure to stick around! This is completely insane. ~Dax P.S. Small question, does anybody know the %female audience right now? If I recall correctly it was 70% male on premiere day, but it was shifting quite abruptly and now, I don't know what's the status on it? Anyway, gotta work on a proper avatar now...
