  1. Huh, but I just made up those lines. Why would I put fake quote onto a Jim pic?
  2. Hope Rodrigues doesn't shit the bed with Alita! I read the manga it's good stuff, has real potential for a great film.
  3. When If Avatar 2 makes more than the first, perhaps studios will cut funding to superhero movies and start funding original Science Fiction films.
  4. I think that just annoys people when they read the 2020. "has that Avatar still not come out yet.. pff!" Keep a low profile and let the fans see the hype. 2020 hits, teasers, trailers, tv interviews and all that good marketing stuff. This post is not based on any facts or stats though, just how I feel.
  5. Also from the deadline link. Pocho De Pocha • on Jun 20, 2017 5:43 pm Well said Pocho De Pocha, well said.
  6. "said Landau, who then showed a premiere preview montage of some of the designs of Pandora and its inhabitants." I need to see this montage
  7. Interview with Randall Frakes sometime in the last 2 years. He had a plan to hire good screenwriters in teams of two to develop each script, using the TV sitcom model to get a lot done simultaneously, but since it is Jim’s vision, and he is going to direct it, he has to make it his own, so he wound up rewriting all the scripts himself (why it took so long to get to filming the sequels!). Wonder how long Jim spent When he was given the green light to develop the AVATAR sequels, he called me up and asked if working on the sequels would disturb my ethics (Jim can be cuttingly funny). I told him not if we could work a non-violent resolution into one of the sequels. He said we might be able to do that for the last one. So I came on board as a story consultant. A non-violent resolution to Avatar 5? Sounds interesting. http://www.jamescamerononline.com/randallfrakes.htm
  8. Avatar made so much money that you think it's position as #1 highest grossing film of all time is unbreakable, it's reasonable to think that. What's a zeitgeist success? (never heard the phrase)
  9. Maybe they can break through the Box Office Wall created by James Cameron. They just have to hope that if they smash through it they don't find a new wall (3.5b ww 2020)
  10. Self-refuting arguement. Also that rubbish article links to a good Jim interview, so it was worth the click honestly. http://money.cnn.com/2017/05/26/media/disney-pandora-avatar-james-cameron-interview/index.html " Well it didn't hurt "Avatar," that there was no "Avatar" before "Avatar." So I kind of rest my case." Love this point from Jim, it's so obvious yet everyone ignores it. Everything close to Avatar in the box office standings (except Titanic) are franchise films and sequels.
  11. Hey man not funny, don't even joke about this sort of thing. Remember no one is allowed to beat Jim until after 2025 when top 6 highest grossing films of all time will be Avatar 1-5 and Titanic.
  12. I read arny's The New Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding: The Bible of Bodybuilding yesterday. Got to shock the body.
  13. He is THE director when it comes to box office, I mean making the highest grossing film of all time, not once, but twice though? He is the king everywhere! I suppose Star Wars made more than Avatar in the US and the UK, you can't really call Disney a King though, it's a studio not a person. Also the US and UK are places where kids are brainwashed into loving Star Wars from a young age, I've experienced it first hand in the UK. Hopefully the Avatar saga will make history and topple 40 years worth of franchising by Star Wars and become the biggest franchise.
  14. There are people who watched that video and thought it was real, let that sink in.
  15. That's exactly what The Futurist said, it's educational for the GoTG target audience. About Avatar in china! They had 4700 screens in China by the end of 2009, with not many 3d capable. Right now they have over 32000 screens which is 6.8x more, lots with imax/3d capability. It wasn't until 2014 when China's market had boomed that Avatar was toppled. I love looking at this list because only 1 film is from another decade and it's pretty high up. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest-grossing_films_in_China Somewhere between The Mermaid and $1B is what I'm expecting, I'm hoping over $700m atleast.
