Also what a big factor bringing people to the cinemas to see Avatar was how spellbinding visually the film was, sure the 3D was important but even without it is what still mesmorising watching it in theatre. I think Avatar 2 will have the same effect, people will flock to see it's beauty even without it having a new "gimmick". -
I like the record of being the first to see the sea bed on the marina trench better with his own eyes. The other guys didn't get to see it.

This is why when Cameron said he has the technology ready for Avatar 2 I had a hardon, because I just know he has done it again. I'm not quite sure what he has done but I know Avatar 2 will be even more mesmorising than the first.

Cameron is really is a legend, he is seriously intelligent and also creative. Probably a film maker which won't be appreciated until he unfornately dies. Not just as a director but as a person, right now his goal isn't making money but spreading his enviromental message to as many people as possible with the Avatar sequels. edit: by appreciated I mean thought of as anything more than a blockbuster director

Avatar 2 is being released december 2017 so hopefully the limatation will be dropped around then. FF7's run in china amazes me to this day.

I'm looking forward to seeing how well Avatar 2 performs in China, I heard rumours of Cameron trying to extend the 1 month maximum for Avatar.

Cameron actually put thought into science behind the film, you'd be extremely suprised by the amount of thought Cameron puts into his films. Whereas locus uses magic known as the force and virtually all of it doesn't try to make sense. He had help from qualified people to design this ship, it's like everything in the film is trying to make sense and be somewhat plausible. Where Star Wars is what will look cool and thats it. No thought into how practical something would be. Then they have to come up with loads of crazy reasonings outside of the films. Why do lazors fire so slow? Why do they use light sword and not guns, apart from looking cool? Surely a earthling shotgun, yes americans im talking to you. Would kill a jedi. Jedis have to move their hand to force push afterall. I'm actually interested to know the "lore" answers to these questions, which were clearly just added after the cluelessness happened in world building.

Avatar = entertaining and TFA = fun. Avatar = science and TFA= fiction Avatar = Child of Cameron and TFA=flick of JJ I wasn't talking about sports if thats what's confusing you. You're getting hung up on the franchise thing, Star Wars vs Cameron, TFA vs Cameron, Avatar vs Star Wars, Avatar vs TFA. It's all the same.

Avatar vs The Force Awakens is the greatest gladitor match in the history of the world. entertainment vs fun Science vs Fiction child of Cameron vs flick of JJ It's the same as a sport in the sense of the competition and rivalry. I don't really know about these American Football teams but Avatar's Franchise will be bigger than Star Wars in 5 years once they dilute star wars dry and Avatar has 4 masterpieces.

Avatar Titanic T2 The Terminator True Lies The Abyss Aliens Cameron ALWAYS delivers and brings something fresh each film and honestly "raises the bar" (jokes asisde). This is why Cameron is my favorite director. Why I want Avatar to remain #1 WW? Honestly that comes from the online hate of Avatar and the online love of Star Wars, sure I enjoyed Star Wars. TFA was pretty good but I didn't like it undermined ROJ, I mean why would Luke destroy the empire then just hide when they come back. There is more but I don't want to write a star wars review, bottomline is I muchly preferred Avatar despite enjoying TFA. I browse reddit, the hate for Avatar on there is unreal. Also comments like "If Avatar can make 2.8bil then TFA can make 3bil easily", "It's safe to say TFA will be #1" annoy me quite a lot from baseless the comments on. It's literally just TFA > Avatar and it's fucking Star Wars man! Easy 3bil. The Avatar hate also makes no sense, their main way of belittling Avatar is calling it blue pocohontas in space or dances with space wolves. Ok if they think the film is derivative that is fine, however the fact their poster boy film is TFA, which is easily more derivative than Avatar. No one is disputing the glaring similarities between TFA and ANH, then theres the fact ANH "was just The Hidden Fortress in space". The Avatar hate and star wars love extends past just reddit and seems to prevelent on any site related to any "geek" culture. Plus it makes it funner for me being Avatar vs Star Wars, sort of like a sport.

There is around 0% chance that TFA starts picking up pace and has a higher per day average in Jan than December. The way the films made the money is too different, Star Wars is front loaded franchise nuke while Titanic was a slowburning firestorm. Sure you can argue the schematics of "what does relavent mean" but lets not get silly. All I meant was the numbers really don't much if any link at all.

Well I've only read 50 or so posts from Kal but they make me laugh, so i'll take that as a complement. It's tuff being a lonely Cameron fan in a star wars world.

Don't see how this is relavent considering Titanic made only 110mil in December, it made more in Jan and Feb and 90-100 mil in March.

Total box office gross is all I ever cared about, I'm not from America and their crazy Star Wars fandom is alien (green) to me.
