Did you like Annihilation enough to try the other two? About school work and time.... it's a tricky thing and it depends on the person but I've found that I do better when I stop and watch a show or listen to music or go out for a couple of hours and then pick up that when I just enslave myself miserably for hours non-stop. Way more efficient too. Also, your Nadine avatar always freaks me out when these conversations are happening. I always have to stop myself from typing "your mom does care!"

Think of a movie you're looking forward to. If it is an adaptation try to find the book. Give reading a chance. You're at the right age to start cultivating that habit.

I was off soda and that stuff for months but started again as a replacement for cigarretes as I tried to quit that (sugar for the anxiety!!). I was drinking a liter and a half of Coca Cola by myself per day until Tuesday. Going full water unless eating out now.

I use digital for English and physical for Spanish. A matter of access, but also because English is mostly for genre stuff while Spanish tends to be way more literary.

I had a meeting the whole morning about a paper that covers blackface in several dances I've grown up watching during Carnival. It is a weird place to be in, but I think it pales next to the good that is done ending this kind of stuff that have only survived due to a misplaced sense of tradition.
