They did someone close enough here with La vendedora de rosas. A version of The Little Match Girl using people from the bad neighborhoods of Medellin. I think most of them are now dead, jailed and the only one that isn't is a hooker now. A biography of the movie's lead was a top rated tv show a couple of years ago too.
Good list. I wish Coco had placed a little higher but my top 3 had a great showing (BR49, Coco, SoW). Actually, I think only God's Own Country was the only one in my top 10 that failed to make (and I never expected it to). Dunkirk winning, meh, but assumed. Nolan is BOT's Patriots.
I didn't like GotG2, and I loved the first one. It felt like it was trying too hard to be emotional. Too on the nose. It's not hard for a film to make me cry but this one had me rolling my eyes instead.
Groot is still adorable, tho.
Dunkirk is technically great and all, but I think the parts fail to make a greater whole. It's a very good film, but that's it. I had loved it more if someone had punched that self-congratulating smile off of Rylance's face. I hated that "character".
