  1. Oldman is winning, guys. It's too Oscar-ish to fail. Biopic, veteran actor, bereft of subtlety. The voting demographics haven't changed that much.
  2. If it had I'd have Annihilation in a theater instead of Netflix. I'll never forgive Butler.
  3. They did someone close enough here with La vendedora de rosas. A version of The Little Match Girl using people from the bad neighborhoods of Medellin. I think most of them are now dead, jailed and the only one that isn't is a hooker now. A biography of the movie's lead was a top rated tv show a couple of years ago too.
  4. Good list. I wish Coco had placed a little higher but my top 3 had a great showing (BR49, Coco, SoW). Actually, I think only God's Own Country was the only one in my top 10 that failed to make (and I never expected it to). Dunkirk winning, meh, but assumed. Nolan is BOT's Patriots.
  5. So is this supossed to be sneaky good now? Did not see that coming.
  6. CMBYN is the kind of film that if liked goes to a Top 5/10 placing.
  7. Yes! First one in my top 10 that shows up. Bring on Yellowstone.
  8. Thrilled that The Florida Project made it. Wonderful film.
  9. I really wanna watch PT but we don't even have a date yet. Sigh. The only BP nominee I'm missing.
  10. Good to see Charles and Illyana making it. First movie on my list that shows up.
  11. I didn't like GotG2, and I loved the first one. It felt like it was trying too hard to be emotional. Too on the nose. It's not hard for a film to make me cry but this one had me rolling my eyes instead. Groot is still adorable, tho.
  12. BOT you wankers You arseholes, I hate you heaps Please die soon, in pain
  13. Wilderpeople was only 26th last year? You people are terrible.
  14. Every Schur series always take a few episodes to gel, but once they do.... top notch
  15. I'm watching old Donald Duck cartoons and in one of them, he feeds those children turkey. How the hell does that work?
  16. Shutter Island. But go blind. No trailer, no synopsis.
  17. Rylance, sure. He was amazing in Bridge. It's the personality-less saint that he plays the one I kept hoping would sink.
  18. Dunkirk is technically great and all, but I think the parts fail to make a greater whole. It's a very good film, but that's it. I had loved it more if someone had punched that self-congratulating smile off of Rylance's face. I hated that "character".
