This is a disappointing development. Playmobil always felt like the wholesome alternative to Lego, and this could've been a different, lighter take on The Lego Movie if done right, but the history of live-action/animation hybrids makes me feel like respecting the feel of the source material isn't the goal of the production. Having the Monster Trucks people handle this is a bad idea in my opinion.

I'm gonna make a potentially bold prediction by saying Maze Runner will maintain its #1 lead over Winchester. The latter film is receiving bad reviews and limited exposure.

More sense than you thinking Samson is going to beat Black Panther opening weekend.

You know who isn't humble? @slambros
Go back and look at his ballot. Voted himself for Funniest Poster! I respect that. Either go humble or go all the way to the other end and be exceedingly not humble, that's what my ma always said.
That was something that I had to think about for a long time, on whether or not I should vote for myself. And I don't actually think that I'm as funny as other people on this site. But I saw that other people wanted to vote for me, so I did it for them, not for myself, but for the people that wanted me in. I thought it'd be something funny in its own right if I made it in. That's one of my frequent prayers- to be selfless rather than selfish- so I do apologize to everyone that feels like they may be upset at me for this; it wasn't my intention to get myself in, it was my intention to make other people happy by my inclusion, and I think I made some people happy. But I already know of other people in the category I want to vote for ahead of me when it comes time to vote for the winner, because there's plenty of other deserving candidates in that category other than me. Hopefully this makes any sense.

These are some great nominees. Nothing I'm terribly mad about, to be honest. It'll be hard when the time to vote comes around.

I felt pretty bad when I ran out of space for this, but I'm really happy that it was able to make it here! A very good piece of pop art that deserves its nomination!

Congratulations to Call Me By Your Name; I've heard great things about it, and I'm sure it deserves its nomination as a piece of quality filmmaking!

Logan is a very deserved nomination in my opinion! Very happy to see it make the list!
Dunkirk is one of my favorite films of the year! Very happy to see it make the list!

Get Out and The Shape of Water! More excellent picks!

Looking at these noms and all I can think is how much fucking time I wasted trying to catch up on so many movies for this that didn't have a fucking chance of being nominated.
Same! A whole year of watching movies for this, overshadowed by quite a bit of casual voting...
...But I'll be glad to do it again this year! (*grumble*)

I literally cannot ask for a better Best Director lineup, really. All six of them are great choices. That's the toughest category for me to vote in.

yaas be stern to me daddy
How many innuendos am I going to waltz into by accident?!
1 minute ago, That One Guy said:I don't know, there could be a most pathetic running joke category introduced and it'd be a pretty easy nominee
I think there's a high chance my club becomes a running joke too, especially if it fails.

BEST ACTOR
I'm going to be stern for this.
This is a great pool of Actor nominees. A great one. But I have to admit that I think Gary Oldman was snubbed for his masterful portrayal of Winston Churchill. And there were many other potential candidates from non-blockbuster films (like Charliee Hunnam and John Cho) that have been snubbed too.
But with the strength of this lineup, I'm not mad at all. Everyone here deserves to be here.

And now for something to change the pace, hopefully calming thing a bit:
BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY
In a very competitive year for Best Original Screenplay, this is one of many exciting categories in terms of nominees. It's great to see Coco get the nomination even though I haven't seen it yet!

A very good Supporting Actress category in my opinion! Favorites of mine that didn't make my ballot are in too! Laurie Metcalf is the one I'm happiest about for sure!

If it gives @WrathOfHan any solace J-Law was 7th and one vote away from tying for 6th (although sixth was not Gadot)
