  1. I would've thought Corpse Bride would have won over Wallace and Gromice back then! XD
  2. I'm having more and more doubt that Silence will even release this year, to be honest... It's been awhile since we've heard any news at all... I guess it would make a prime 2017 candidate against Dunkirk, though.
  3. Well, it is directed by the person that directed 5 Centimeters Per Second. That one is really well known!
  4. I've seen a lot of anime, and Your Name, to me, just looks like a highly polished one. What I saw looks good, but I think it would probably have to have 90% or above on Rotten Tomatoes before it could come anywhere remotely close to being nominated in this year of competition. There are higher profile anime films out this year, too... but after Boy and the World last year, I think anything can sneak in with enough critical acclaim.
  5. Sound Editing: La La Land Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk Jason Bourne The Jungle Book Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Sound Mixing: Sully Deepwater Horizon The Jungle Book La La Land Jason Bourne My predictions are bad... I can already tell...
  6. "Nobody Knows" by The Lumineers from Pete's Dragon
  7. I've decided to make a new prediction list. I'm only putting down eight, like last time. Arrival Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk Birth of a Nation La La Land Loving Manchester by the Sea Moonlight Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (That trailer last night... I think we might have an Oscar contender!)
  8. I'm going to update my selection. Zootopia Finding Dory Kubo and the Two Strings Moana The Red Turtle I'm going completely safe! And I'm apologizing now for putting Storks in over Zootopia back in February. That was quite a dumb move.
  9. I feel like this is the one where certain films will suddenly jump into the forefront. That's probably true with every big festival, though...
  10. Zootopia Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk The Light Between Oceans Silence Manchester By The Sea
  11. Suicide Squad Birth of a Nation Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
  12. Passengers Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk La La Land The Birth of a Nation Arrival
  13. Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Love & Friendship Birth of a Nation Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
  14. La La Land Birth Of A Nation Silence The Light Between Oceans Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk
  15. La La Land Star Wars: Rogue One The Light Between Oceans Hacksaw Ridge Assassin's Creed (I'm willing to take the risk!)
  16. Wow! It speaks volumes about a film's quality if a whole country is willing to back the film in question.
  17. Little Men is currently getting amazing reviews. But will it be a contender? Personally, I think it's got a shot at being like Boyhood. It's not as praised by any means, but it's certainly lauded nonetheless, so a great movie with a similar theme could hit the mark. Maybe. (I just realized I'm like a conversation starter. Is that okay?)
  18. Tom Ford's Nocturnal Animals, and Denis Villeneuve's Arrival (aka Story of your Life), will premiere at the next Venice Film Festival!
  19. In a surprise twist, Twenty One Pilots has a song for Suicide Squad, and everyone seems to be eating it up. But is it a contender?
  20. I'll be the one to point out the pop songs: Can't Stop The Feeling by Justin Timberlake for Trolls, Just Like Fire by P!nk for Alice Through the Looking Glass, and Saw It Coming by G-Eazy and Jeremih for Ghostbusters. None of those individual movies should be receiving Oscars, but we'll see what happens with the songs.
  21. How does everyone feel about Daniel Brühl for Captain America: Civil War? He did a great job.
  22. Phantom Boy, a GKids distribution, is releasing fairly soon, too. This year is extremely competitive.
  23. So both Ratchet & Clank and Angry Birds are both non-starters, then?
  24. Original: Allied Birth of a Nation Manchester By The Sea Passengers Zootopia Adapted: Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk The Light Between Oceans Hunt For The Wilder People Love & Friendship Silence
