  1. For those worried about Wolf's cinemascore, remember that Shutter Island received the same score and that had terrific legs. Even if people didn't like it, they were talking about it, which made people want to see it. Wolf is a bit of a different beast, but I imagine it will be a similar kind of scenario. I would like to see a distribution curve on that score. I would wage a bet that using the mean score © is not the best measure. Mode is probably better.
  2. Saw both Django and Les Mis today. Both were great, although I preferred Django. The crowd was really into it. It was an event. I saw Les Mis second, so my ass was a bit numb and I was a bit tired, but it was very good. Screenings for both were sold out. The audiences ate both of them up (although the Django reactions seemed more visibly and audibly enthusiastic).
  3. Yeah, I've read the script and unless they do re-shoots, it would completely ruin the end of the movie if they just cut it out.
  4. Who are you to talk about open minded knowledge of the world? Coming from the guy who thinks that there are no shootings in Canada and that no one locks their doors (I don't know anyone who doesn't lock their doors, Michael Moore is an idiot). I am in no way trying to make Canada sound "hardcore", I'm merely pointing out your obvious ignorance. Trust me, I'm glad Canada isn't "hardcore". I'm now going to go drink some maple syrup, while I play hockey near a beaver dam. I'll make sure my door isn't locked on the way out and I'll ride a polar bear to the rink.Sounds good, eh?
  5. The Polytechnique was merely the first that came to mind, there have been others more recently (off the top of my head):Eaton Centre Shootings (2012)Scarborough Shootings (2012)Dawson College (2005)Michael Moore's inaccurate depiction of guns and safety in Canada has led to an incredible amount of ignorance among Americans (on top of how much they already have in general). Yes, shootings like this are more prevalent in America, but they still happen here.
  6. Sarcasm? I hope so.http://en.wikipedia....hnique_massacreNot to mention the random shooting at the Eaton Centre this summer, that could have been a lot worse than it was.
  7. Here you guys are, wondering what went wrong, when Warner Bros. isn't even reporting numbers and Nikki's numbers jumped $7.2 million in less than an hour.Relax.
  8. Get some fucking perspective. One of the biggest mass shootings in American history occurred yesterday at a screening of The Dark Knight Rises. Excuse me if I don't think $77 million is a terrible opening.Jesus Christ people.
  9. Good retort. :rolleyes:Like I said, nobody is going to shoot up empty screening rooms. There's really no other way to spin this. But continue to try if it makes you feel better.
  10. If someone were to do it again, it would be the obvious target. Wake up.
  11. If a gunman wants to commit a mass killing, he/she is probably not going to shoot up a 4th week screening of Madea's Witness Protection.Open your eyes people.
  12. Same. People are going nuts over the movie. I'm thinking A Cinemascore. The lowest would be A-.
  13. The first commenter is spot on:"So I guess Schindler’s List shouldn’t have been made then, to avoid future holocausts."She is such an idiot.
  14. I thought it was kind of a buzz-kill, to be perfectly honest.
  15. It kinda was. The previous two films had mediocre third acts, to be honest. The third act in this one is absolute perfection.
  16. While I think expectations for midnight records or really close to it were too high, in hindsight, Twilight and Harry Potter are different beasts. They have rabid fanbases of young people without jobs going to midnight showings.I think significantly topping the midnights of The Avengers and The Dark Knight are the better comparisons here.
  17. The Grey is fantastic, but I don't expect WOM will be all that great amongst mainstream audiences. The ending is really bleak.
  18. I don't actually have the numbers, but the top 5 (in order) were released on my theatre chain's website.
  19. Well, at least Canadians have some sense. MI4 gave The Devil Inside an ass kicking.
