  1. I would explain, but book spoilers are forbidden. At least, I think I remember it being mentioned in the novel. Or my memory could be making shit up. Also, it'll be interesting to see how they handle flashbacks for this in the sequel, since this film seems to have covered pretty much almost everything I can think of and wrapped the childhood portion up nicely. Maybe except for a few things.
  2. It had the right balance of comedy, horror, wonder, and emotion. Just wish Ben and Mike hadn't swapped roles. Other than that, I can't wait to see what they have in store for us with Chapter Two.
  3. I didn't feel fear, but I felt dread during various parts of the film. Horror rarely does that to me anymore. It's all the same shit, but in this case it was different. It makes the miniseries look like kiddie fare by comparison.
  4. The screening I attended was fucking SOLD OUT. I was there with my brother and my future sister-in-law. If any of you are on the fence about seeing IT, get off your ass and buy a ticket.
  5. Bought three reserved seats for tonight's 7:00 PM preview screening, which is currently sold out at Park Place Cinemas. I've never been this excited for a horror film. That's fucking nuts!
  6. If they're as sleek and fluid as they were in the teaser, my interest in this will be almost completely gone. If Del Toro was on board for this, I would be infinitely more excited. But that's not the case here...
  7. This is the film that'll try to fight off IT in its second week? I don't think IT has anything to be worried about...
  8. He wasn't a very interesting member of the Losers Club, so I think this is understandable. Not as interesting as the rest, assuredly.
  9. I felt that Eddie, Ben, and Richie were the most interesting members of the Losers Club, so yeah, I agree that they all have something to offer.
  10. Just finished the book. The miniseries does not compare. This movie should blow that out of the water if it's what people are saying it is. And I want it to be that way SO badly.
  11. Anybody who expected them to stick with the October 5th date for next year was setting themselves up for disappointment.
  12. Unfortunately, this is what I'm afraid of: That it'll do spectacularly in a few countries, but tank everywhere else.
  13. Annabelle: Creation August 10th, 9:45 PM, 40% full Regal Nitro Stadium 12 | Nitro, WV The crowd was mostly boring. Trailers Murder On the Orient Express - No reactions. Logan Lucky - Some laughter. Mother! - Some whispers. Flatliners - No reactions. It (Preview) - Sighs and one "Really?" during and after the preview. Jigsaw - No reactions. Nobody responded especially well to the film, but a few people were surprised by the jump scares. It was an alright horror film that didn't really try anything different.
  14. It would make sense to me if this preview hadn't played in front of an R-rated horror film. I thought the tension in the preview was fantastic.
  15. I wish I was in your all's areas. All I got were sighs and one "Really?" during and after the 4 minute preview. People are dull as shit where I live. Regardless of what the simps in this area think, I'm sold and it'll be an opening night view for me.
  16. Saw a 9:45 PM showing. It was okay. If I had to give a letter grade it would be B-. It tries some interesting things, but still feels like an average horror film. You could compare it to most horror films in this decade, and there's very little you see in this that hasn't been explored in other horror films already. The team behind this played a little too safe, I think.
  17. As a nonbeliever, I'm still probably going to see this with my brother on the weekend it opens. Religious symbolism in film is like sprinkles on cupcakes. They're barely noticeable with everything else.
  18. Friend saw a Thursday screening last night. According to him, the other three people in the theater left in the middle of the film. I've never heard of something like that happening. I wonder if it could really be that bad...
  19. Perhaps he simply wants to do something different after 40+ years in the industry? I'd be up for something different if I had a career as illustrious as his.
  20. Same. Nostalgia is a great feel-good thing, but a film can't survive on that alone.
  21. "Aquaman doesn't quite get along with anyone, though. Momoa jokes that he's 'hurt and sensitive' and as a result distrusts land dwellers." In other words, he's Namor? TRAILER!
