  1. They aren't moving this to August. Anybody who thinks that's likely is kidding themselves.
  2. Don't those usually have happy endings, though? Also...I haven't eaten much over the last three days. I feel like my insides are about to tear me up, but I can't feel bothered to eat anything. Like if I do, my body's just going to react poorly to it.
  3. Box Office Pro usually sucks at predicting things. This is why I always ignore what they have to say, or read their predictions for kicks. Box Office Mojo will always be superior, because they take tracking into account as well as other factors. Added note: Hell, the people HERE have been more accurate with films over the last year than Box Office Pro.
  4. I was in middle school when this was first being talked about, so you're probably right about the number...
  5. So they made a Strawman 3? I'd like to see it for the hilarity, but I don't want to pay for a ticket to see this. What a dilemma.
  6. I will not lie. This trailer almost got me in trouble at work today. The pancake moment was just too much. I had a laughing fit during my break period.
  7. The same website severely underestimated Kong: Skull Island and overestimated Power Rangers, so I would take their word with a tablespoon of salt. It's still too soon to guess.
  8. Filming is scheduled to begin this October, and will conclude in February of 2019. https://omegaunderground.com/2018/02/21/godzilla-vs-kong-battling-soon-begins-shooting-fall-atlanta/
  9. Alita, easily. Main protagonist with eyes that reach deep into uncanny valley? Check. Adaptation of a Japanese animated property? Check. Paramount's distributing? Check. Never mind, it's Fox. Yeah, it has Cameron on board, but that's not enough. It's going to be a financial train wreck that we won't be able to look away from.
  10. I have a much stronger sense of anticipation for this than next month's Pacific Rim: Uprising. That's fucking hilarious, and also a little sad. Oh well. This movie's going to be fun anyway.
  11. The tweet a few pages back said otherwise, but oh well. I don't care if it really "wins" any of these awards it's been nominated for anyway. I almost forgot this film existed.
  12. I forgot the Razzies existed until I peered into this thread again. So it's been nominated for Worst Picture, Worst Director, Worst Actress, and Worst Supporting Actress? Lol, everyone is taking a shit on this film. Imagine if they had a "clean sweep" for all of these awards.
  13. For those who may have missed it....Columbus also wrote Gremlins. (Seriously though, I'd be shocked if most of you haven't seen it since it's instantly recognizable.) This could be an interesting project to keep our eyes on.
  14. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm glad I just watched The Cloverfield Paradox on Netflix instead of paying $7.25 for a matinee showing to see this. It's a very convoluted film. Too much weird shit is happening at once. I can understand now why Paramount dumped it. I had a difficult time wrapping my head around all of it.
  15. It could just be a teaser. If they just finished production, it'll be hard to have something from the film itself ready to present.
  16. I would say to just have Charles Martinet do it since he's been voicing the character for 28 years. But Mario's never spoken long term in games and has been restricted to small catch phrases, so I am not sure if he'd be able to do it for that long without sounding over-the-top.
  17. I'm interested in this, but I'm not fond of Illumination as an animation company. Their quality is really watered down compared to the likes of Dreamworks and Pixar. They have a very generic style that isn't easily identifiable for me. Hopefully Mario's appearance won't be affected by that, but I suspect he will.
  18. I didn't read his comment that way, and I completely agree with him. Dare I say, this film shouldn't even exist. One thing to consider though is that Box Office Pro also had Kong: Skull Island opening at $40 million on its opening weekend with a $90 million domestic total around this time last year, and it made more than what their projections suggested on both fronts. However, that film had to benefit of good word of mouth and it had steady legs. Unless this film knocks it out of the park, I am not expecting a similar surprise from Uprising.
  19. Sucks if it's true. If it's coming from you, then it most likely is. By the way, by "studio," do you mean Legendary or Universal? The only reason I ask is because he tweeted this today:
  20. My biggest problem with what I've seen is that the Jaegers lack *power.* They're too fast, too sleek, and too "animated." I can tell that this one doesn't have Del Toro's touch, and that's why I'm just not as interested in this one as I was for the original almost five years ago.
