    I never got it doing big in Japan in the first place. Like Pixar, Pokémon has been on a decline there for years since 2013/14.

    Nah, especially considering the last one was budgeted at around $90M. We’ll likely still get it in 2019, as we’ll probably get the teaser with Far From Home.

    It was mainly due to the first trailer, before the first trailer the majority was thinking Angry Birds numbers as well as us trusting test screenings and then increased our predictions by a lot sort of like how we did Venom. I think in hindsight, the warning sign was the drop off from the first trailer to the second trailer and no one was expecting Endgame to be that big.

    The Tuesday number when I checked an hour ago was looked at 7000, which is lower than expected/hoped for imho.

    As for me I’m guessing Lego Batman to $60M OW, before North Shore collapsed on me, I got 40 tickets at about 2:00 pm which when compared to HT3 there gives us $50M, thought I was going to wait until 7:00 pm for a bit more accuracy.

    I never got Pikachu was going to be a presale monster even with the Pokémon fanbase as I would imagine the fanbase isn’t loud enough and this is the first Pokémon movie. If this were Red and Blue then yeah, you’d have a valid point but Pikachu seems more like a Disney remake than a lower tier family friendly CBM comparison wise.

    Menominee Falls (2nd biggest theater in Wisconsin) has 20 showtimes for Pikachu, including 6 in the PLF and 2 in 3D. That’s pretty good imho.
