  1. This looks fucking amazing? Not that I didn't think it would but they really got me by surprise with how great this looks I gotta say. And in my ecstasy I only just saw this is coming out in May They're really making up for the 18 month drought, huh.
  2. Man, this trailer pretty much gave me the exact dynamic I was hoping for between them, I can't fucking wait. Bring on 19th March.
  3. For real, some people seemed to go in wanting to hate this because of how it was released and act like it's the worst movie ever, like calm tf down. People can get so dramatic about it lol. I never had any more issues with dialogue than I have with any other movie so the hubbub over that was strange for me, too. It's definitely a film that requires rewatches, I think it was my third before I started understanding the parts of it that confused the hell out of me, but it was fun to figure it out and see it click into place, so it'll be interesting to see how your rewatch goes. I think as the years go by this'll be a prime example of a movie that hooks people when they rewatch it and can understand it more, because I've seen frustration over being confused and saying it's bad for that reason. If anything my confusion just made me want to understand it and it's very worth it once you do.
  4. I enjoyed it on my first watch but I was also extremely confused so that gave me some mixed emotions, but I pretty much knew I'd likely feel that way going in. There's a lot going on and you can't really appreciate it until you know how things work tbh, it really does play so differently on rewatch(es), but it's worth it for sure. I think the third viewing was when it fully gelled for me and after that it's just fun watching all the pieces click together. It'd be interesting to see what the critical response would've been if they'd seen it more than once. I can't help but think there'll be a re-evaluation on that front in the future.
  5. Thank god they moved it and are committed to theatrical, the thought of watching this for the first time on Disney+ was too depressing to me for words. I'm also glad they didn't bother fucking around with February because odds are low that that's going to be decent, might as well be realistic about this shit.
  6. Oh my god, it's beautiful. I know it's because of the delay but BW getting two Total Film covers this year is amazing. They showed the second trailer in front of Tenet this past weekend and while I took a couple of peeks I didn't watch it overall. As for when they'll release it, who the hell knows. I never though Mulan would be sent to Disney+ in a million years, so I now officially assume nothing. Although with how Tenet unfortunately under-performed I think the current release date is a stretch. But again, who knows. At this point in time I just want to see it in theatres, the thought of having to watch it at home is gutting tbh.
  7. I'm seeing it for a second time today so I'm interested to see how it plays. I've watched some explanation videos and read some stuff on Reddit to try to wrap my brain around it and I think I've managed to get more clarity on some aspects, but I guess I'll see for sure in a couple of hours.
  8. Pretty much my thoughts on Tenet: I mean, I got a reasonable amount of it but some of it tripped me up, but I know that's not exactly uncommon so that's fine. It was great to be back at the cinemas though, it's been 6 months since I was there last. I missed u, IMAX.
  9. I've avoided all footage besides the first trailer released last December and I had to think about whether I'd watch the second trailer if it comes up in front of Tenet. On one hand I want to see as much of it as fresh as I can when I do (finally) see it, but on the other what if they put it straight on Disney+ and I never get to see that footage on the big screen? I decided I'll look away if it does show in front of Tenet, which I think it most likely will because what the hell else is there to show at the moment. Maybe I'll regret it but I'm glad to hear it played well on the big screen. Now I'm just praying I get to see the movie in theatres - I care a lot less about when that is and much more about where.
  10. What the literal fuck?! I thought this was fake at first, I'm fucking shocked.
  11. No Tenet for me this weekend, lockdown just got extended. Sucks, but I'd rather that get sorted than blow up, so oh well.
  12. I didn't realise there were screenings here this weekend, but I've just been looking at the Event Cinemas page and couldn't see anything in the non-Auckland theatres, I see they're on at Reading at least. At this point I'm just hoping it's safe enough to get to level 2 otherwise I won't get the chance to see it next Saturday at IMAX.
  13. When I realised when it's due to end I was like, so we have a chance. No previews but Thursday viewings are technically possible. Fingers crossed, I wanna see this shit goddamn (while also being safe of course).
  14. It's showing for 3rd September here while Tenet is strangely nowhere to be seen.
  15. You still have a shot, it even being released this year is far from certain with how things are going.
  16. Yeah, I've been pretty pessimistic about this whole thing which has only gotten worse in the US unfortunately, so I reset my expectations to May 2021 back when it first got moved. It's tough to say conclusively what'll happen since this is obviously unprecedented, but I'd say odds aren't in favour of Disney forgoing theatrical in the US unless they're extremely desperate. Exactly. After Eternals there's nothing filmed anyway. Shang-Chi is going to start up again but who knows how that'll go, so it's not like BW's holding the theatrical slate up since there's not much there. It seems like a waste to rush it out when they'll have to catch up anyway, and even TFaTWS hasn't been completed, so we'll hit a wall when it comes to releases at some point anyway.
  17. It's kinda blowing my mind that they're actually doing this as well, and I'll be super pissed if it leaks. Spoilers will be bad enough but the film itself leaking will be awful. Although who knows when we'll get to see it, and when it does release what it can even do box office-wise anyway. Sigh.
  18. Do they have theatres there that it'll be screening at? Or some other delivery method? Seems ripe for piracy depending on how it's done and how much they gaf about keeping access controlled.
  19. Over the last three weeks I've been rewatching Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman because it was one of my favourite shows as a kid and I need some nostalgic comfort viewing right now. Plus I probably haven't watched my DVDs in at least a decade so I figured I should go through them again. And man, every episode is like a warm hug and usually has me grinning at the end of it (and several times during it), so I'm having a great time. Just finished the S2 finale and I'll probably watch another couple of episodes tonight. It's so very '90s but that's exactly what I want right now. Dean Cain is sexy af (I had a huuuge crush on him of course), Teri Hatcher is amazing as Lois (and shout out to her for getting the Starring title added in the second season, because she most definitely is the lead along with Clark/Superman), and the SFX are absolutely laughable but I don't give a single fuck. Inject this cheesy goodness straight into my veins. There's an informant on the show that pops up occasionally that they buy fast food for as payment for information and yesterday there was an episode where he was eating and talking to Lois on a payphone. Using both hands, eating while touching the payphone and swapping hands while doing so and I was pretty much dying inside. Seems like a bad idea at any point in time, but right now?
