  1. I was talking to someone who went to a screening who said the kid who played Stan was straight-up awful, but he also got the least amount of screentime, and everyone else was good enough around him that it wasn't too distracting.
  2. As one of the seven people in the country who actually watched Galavant, Joshua Sasse would be great. His comic timing is impeccable.
  3. I love Saoirse, she's by far the best actress of her generation imo. More nuanced than JLaw, more versatile than Stone or Vikander, more compelling on screen than Brie.
  4. Any idea what age range they're looking at for Billy? Can't think of any way Jacob Tremblay isn't tapped for this unless Billy is going to be 13-15.
  5. The kids were all on GMA a couple of minutes ago and one of them extended a 'formal apology' to all the clowns lol. I know they're keeping Bill Skarsgard away from the press circuit so people don't see his Abercrombie GQ-looking ass when they're supposed to see Pennywise, but I kinda wanted to hear more about his process. Maybe he'll get to take a victory lap on the late-night shows after IT is a huge hit.
  6. Letterboxd has a lot more reviews up - this new batch of responses are definitely more muted than the rest. [x] Consensus seems to be a great cast lifts a fairly generic adaptation which is nevertheless still a lot of fun.
  7. This is going to be the topic of so many thinkpieces in the fall. PT Barnum was piece of crap and their whitewashing of it in this movie is so strange. He didn't encourage people to be 'weird and different', he abused and exploited them and called them freaks to make a quick buck.
  8. True. Maybe if IT is a truly zeitgeist-y hit that stays in the cultural consciousness for a long time like GET OUT, they could attract some A-list stars. Speaking as a longtime Stephen King fan though, I don't see that happening.
  9. I completely forgot about Superman... I still think she won't ever in a million years sign up for this. Horror movies are still seen as a cut below in the industry.
  10. I think Bill and Bev (and maybe Richie) have the most complete arcs in the book. If we get any name actors, it'll be for one of those three. Adult Bev in particular has someone in her life who is an essential driver of the main plot of Part 2 so it might be the juiciest role. I can definitely see Chastain boarding Part 2 of this - she's worked with the director before and is very fond of him, is supportive of this project in particular, isn't below signing on for franchise flicks (X-Men) the way say, an Oscar-bait actress like Amy Adams would be.
  11. The director himself. Are you shooting those flashbacks now? When the kids are at that age? MUSCHIETTI: No, I’m just praying that the kids don’t grow up. Source
  12. The director said a potential sequel would feature a lot of flashbacks to the kids intercut with the scenes of the adults (like the miniseries), so whether they choose to release it in 2018 or 2019, they'll have to film it FAST before the kids grow up too much. The kids already look considerably older now than they did during filming and nearly all of the boys' voices have broken etc.
