  1. Can't see it holding that well, especially if WOM is really like Prometheus. 80-85 is a much more likely range.
  2. You could learn a few things from Rth. I seem to remember a certain someone being confident - certain, in fact - that Power Rangers would do $100m+, so I'd eat a little bigger slice of humble pie next time around, ok?
  3. Assuming Guardians does $34m this weekend for a ~48% drop: Avengers 2 -50.3% 3 -46% 4 -34.1% IM3 2 -58.4% 3 -50.7% 4 -46% TASM2 2 -61.2% 3 -52.7% 4 -53.4% AoU 2 -59.4% 3 -50% 4 -44.2% CW 2 -59.5% 3 -54.7% 4 -53.3% GotG2 2 -55.5% 3 -48% It's playing closer to the first Avengers than it is any other of these, which seems to indicate a pretty decent Memorial Day drop. Not saying it will do -35% or anything, but a 40% drop and $20m+ over the 3-day is definitely possible.
  4. Damn, it's been a long time. Sorry, everyone. Don't worry, because we're back. Next on the list: Katharine Hepburn and Jeff Goldblum.
  5. one is the opening weekend of a well-reviewed installment of a decades-old franchise with significant buzz, the other is the second weekend of an absolute financial failure with terrible marketing and no mainstream appeal so who knows
  6. Me Before You was surprisingly huge. $208m worldwide for that kind of movie is amazing. If Everything, Everything makes even a fifth of that it'll be in great shape.
  7. @EmpireCity thank you for your service. I'm sorry some people can't respect confidentiality, but hopefully you can continue posting as a regular user as I value your insight. @Boner Omega ... cool name
  8. Hey all! I've been slammed with finals for the past week, and this next week isn't looking too promising either in terms of my workload. I'll try to update this list when I can, but don't count on there being a regular schedule for a while. Until I can find the time, here are some clues as to the next 5: 3 1980s films (goodie!) A Dustin Hoffman vehicle A disaster movie 2 less-than-stellar sequels
  9. -55.6% for Guardians makes it the lowest second-weekend drop for any MCU sequel. Even better than Winter Soldier (-56.6%)
  10. Lol I love how you put TDKR on the list twice just to wring out every last like from the Nolan fanboys
  11. Yeah. Thank god no one goes home this weekend. Good Lord.
  12. It's almost as if CinemaScore is a completely arbitrary measure of enjoyment that has no real effect on box office performance unless it's an A+ or an F
