  1. The Batman for the win. The character is perennially popular and the film is going to be extremely well-made, drawing in many characters from the mythos. Dr Strange just seems ridiculous and unwieldy.
  2. Yep, the fact she and her brother made 2 albums in their bedroom means nothing when a) anyone can make an album in their bedroom these days and b) the 2 albums in question are total rubbish.
  3. Looks great! Also, people's reactions never fail to amuse; I mean, exactly what kind of character development are you expecting for Harley Quinn??
  4. I wish Raimi would drop out and Derrickson back in. Raimi's a big step down (with the exception of Drag Me To Hell and Spider-Man 2 all his stuff since The Quick And The Dead has been terribly stodgy and lifeless).
  5. Crap, I didn't know that! Ah well, the last time I went to Dendy Circular Quay it was to see Amelie.
  6. All I know is that here in Australia, where it's as close to normal as you can get (even with the latest "outbreak" in Sydney), WW84 is doing very well.
  7. Just a little nitpick: Heaven Can Wait is from 1978. But it's a good example - just like Steve, Warren Beatty's character comes back to life in another man's body.
  8. Not to veer wildly off-topic, but those numbers were greatly boosted by a certain off-screen incident.
  9. That's a fantastic result, and boy, do our cinemas need it. They're looking at $400 million in total for 2020, compared to $1.2 billion last year.
  10. This criticism has popped up a lot, and I think a lot of people are forgetting that WW84 is a homage to the films of 80s, which was THE decade for the magical body-swap genre.
  11. Yeah, Cleopatra and a gorgeous actress hasn't exactly been a successful combo at the movies. There was the 1944 flop Caesar and Cleopatra with Vivien Leigh which was the most expensive British film to date and, of course, the notorious Cleopatra with Elizabeth Taylor. Anyway, terrific numbers for WW84. And I can't believe people were actually doubting that there'd be a 3rd film from Jenkins.
  12. She should try her hand at Spidey. She couldn't possibly do any worse than whoever was responsible for the last two atrocities.
  13. I'm confused. Didn't the first trailer promise goofy, 80s inspired fun?
  14. The Sydney Morning Herald's review is so-so (3 out of 5, by a reviewer whose taste I greatly respect but who isn't usually ga-ga over superhero flicks) but it does add that Gal as Diana is probably the best piece of superhero casting since Christopher Reeve.
  15. You didn't cry during No Man's Land? Or Steve's sacrifice? Anyway, this sounds great! Can't wait to sob!
  16. Good points...I'll have to rewatch the first film to confirm exactly what Hippolyta was objecting to.
  17. This clip is beautiful and legit made me tear up, but doesn't young Diana's participation in the tournament contradict the first film? Also, where are the overweight and otherwise aesthetically unconventional Amazons?
  18. Don't usually care for her opinions, but from what I've seen this is going to be a very emotional experience. Can't wait!
  19. I have a feeling this is going to be better than the first one. Much better (and I loved the first one).
  20. It's one of the worst Bond songs and Eilish was a ridiculous choice.
